Pembrokeshire Harriers athletes parade medals
Eighteen athletes from Pembrokeshire Harriers recently travelled to the Indoor Centre in Swansea for the West Wales Indoor Championships and performed superbly.
These are a very popular Championships with a record number of athletes participating this year and although Pembrokeshire Harriers athletes were vastly outnumbered by those from Swansea they achieved a remarkable set of results, proving once again that it is quality not quantity that counts!
Nearly every Harrier gained medals and personal best performances for their event and even those who didn't stand on the podium performed very well on the day.
As a result, the Harriers’ athletes amassed a total of 20 medals.....7 GOLD; 7 SILVER; 6 BRONZE.
Also, as a result of these Championships, several athletes are now ranked towards the top of their event in Wales and even in the UK! This augurs well for the forthcoming Welsh Championships to be held in Cardiff in late January and mid February.

William Hughes: Shot – GOLD (8.5m)

Under 13 Girls:
Jayde Collins: 60m – BRONZE (8.9s)
Gracie Lawrence: 60m Hurdles – GOLD (10.1s pb); 60m (9.0s pb)
Under 15 Boys:
Harry Coombe: 60m Hurdles – BRONZE (12.5s pb); Triple Jump – BRONZE (7.56m pb)
Aaron John: 60m – BRONZE (7.6s)
Morgan Richards: Shot – BRONZE (9.47m)
Under 15 Girls:
Esme Greer: 60m Hurdles – SILVER (9.4s pb); 60m – BRONZE (8.4s); Long Jump (4.50m)
Amy Rothero: Shot: SILVER (8.61m); 60m Hurdles (10.5s); 60m (8.6s)
Lydia Thomas: 60m Hurdles – GOLD (9.3s pb); 60m – GOLD (8.3s)
Under 17 Men:
Jordan Davies: High Jump – SILVER (1.80m pb)
Daniel Salmon: 60m – SILVER (7.6s)
Under 17 Women:
