Herbie battle to welcome win
Herbrandston B (78 for 5) beat Haverfordwest Lightning (59 all out) by 19 runs
Morgan Britton again led the Herbie batting with 24 from 19 balls and was supported by Charlie Malloy (13), Jack Badham (10) and ‘Mr Extras’ (13 as Doug Johnson (3 for 12) changed from Lightning’s ace batsman to main strike bowler, with support from Ahmed Prabku (1 for 16).
But Johnson for once failed to make an impact with the bat but Shan Perreira took over the reins with a blistering 32 from only 19 balls, including three fours – but only had a cameo from skipper Mark Davies (14) as Malloy (2 for 19), Britton and Atticus Kingson all bowled well, ably assisted by some great work in their fielding.
Tish too strong for Seniors B
St Ishmaels (107 for 2) beat Pembs Seniors B (75 all out) by 32 runs
Jonathan Twigg (27 not out, with two boundaries from 24 deliveries) was again in good form for the Seniors B and Marc Evans also batted well for his supportive 20 but with Llewellyn (1 for 14), Bowen (1 for 18) and another former Seniors’ player in Stuart Carpenter (1 for 13) keeping the pressure on it was Tish who celebrated a deserved win.
Carew pull out all the stops
Carew (111 for 5) beat Neyland B (99 for 5) by 12 runs
Their excellent final score of 111 was achieved through the batting exploits of Noah Davies (finally dismissed for 33) and Rhys Lewis (31 not out) as Dylan James (1 for 18) and Sam Laugharne (2 for 28) bowled well for Neyland B.
Neyland also had their batting heroes in two very experienced players in Danny Potter (ex-Haverfordwest) and Martyn Lewis (previously with Lamphey) as they scored unbeaten scores of 32 and 24 – but they ran out of overs after the team had made a slow start and paid the inevitable price!
