Team Captain for the main Tenderfoot team, Angie Richards (Broad Haven), set the standards for the day by attaining third place in the Boccia, with fellow competitors John Richards (Broad Haven) and Brian Quinlan (Narberth).

Tip-top table tennis

The teams came first in the Table Tennis with Tim Heaps (Llandewi Velfrey) and James Dash (Spittal) contesting the final, with Lynsey McCarthy (Milford Haven) reaching the semi-final and came second along with Daniel Pullin (Rhosemarket).

Great second team effort

The second team under the captaincy of Simon Woolley (Kilgetty) came a creditable fourth, with a third place in the Football Shoot-out thanks to Francis Corbett, Donna Emery and Precilla Williams (all of Narberth) and further good performances from Wayne Llewellyn in the Swimming and Kimberley Woolley in the New Age Kurling.

The female sports personality of the games was awarded to Lynsey McCarthy

Team managers, Rotarians Charles Hopkinson and Brian Waters of the Rotary Club of Saundersfoot, could hardly contain their emotions, being extremely pleased with the dedication shown by all team members, particularly as the standard of competition was so high this year and the large margin between first and second places.

Tenderfoot will recommence training at the Tenby Leisure Centre in September next year where new entrants would be encouraged to participate.   Further information about Tenderfoot is available from Rotarian Charles Hopkinson on (01834) 813433.
