Players booted up to regional squad
Two members of Cleddau Warriors football club have been picked for the South West Wales Regional Disability Football squad.
After attending trial sessions in Carmarthen, Jack Surtees and Steven Sullivan, both 20 and from Pembroke, have been chosen.
As part of the regional squad, the boys recently travelled to Cardiff to play against a more experienced South East regional team where, although they lost quite heavily, the boys played well.
Angela is delighted
Angela Miles, disability sport officer for Sport Pembrokeshire, the sports development arm of Pembrokeshire County Council, said she was pleased that players from Cleddau Warriors now had an opportunity to progress to regional representative football and from there to the national disability squad.
Cleddau Warriors play in the South West Wales Disability League organised by the FAW Trust. The players are coached by David Goddard, Huw Bevan and Delwyn Lewis.
