A change at the top at the Conygar Bridge Meadow

There will be a significant change of officers at the Conygar Bridge Meadow Stadium because Haverfordwest County’s directors have reluctantly accepted the resignation of club chairman, Rob Summons, with immediate effect.

Rob’s workload since his election to the County Council and some recently added responsibilities associated with his council work, have made it impossible for him to devote the time he himself felt the club could expect and deserve.

Rob will continue to be associated with the Club in an advisory capacity, particularly as regards his knowledge and professional “know- how” in pitch and ground management, having previously tended the pitches at Haverfordwest Cricket Club and in more recent times bringing the Bridge Meadow pitch to a standard which has attracted international games.

Stepping into Rob Summons’ shoes as chairman will be David Hughes, formerly the club’s commercial director and who has worked very closely with the previous chairman during the time they have been involved together.
“I am pleased that I leave the club in safe hands with David taking over the reins,” said Rob Summons, “and I look forward to regular visits when time allows to see the many friends I have made there in terms of players, officials and supporters.”

A club spokesman responded:
“The Club wish to place on record its thanks to Rob for all the work he has carried out during his eight years as Chairman of the Bluebirds.
“We wish him well for the future.”
