Two-horse title race between Goodwick and Hakin is really hotting up

The Pembrokeshire Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League First Division is a two-horse race between leaders Goodwick United and reigning champions Hakin United.

Goodwick United are currently five points ahead of Hakin United, but the latter have two games in hand and they have to play each other twice as the title could go down to the wire.

Angle lost 2-4 against Goodwick United, Connor Willis and Nick Willis netted for the homesters, while the visitors claimed the points with goals scored by Rhys Dalling, Jordan Griffiths, Steffan Williams and a penalty b Adam Raymond.

Hakin United ran riot as they easily brushed aside Tenby 11-0 at the Obs, there were hat-tricks apiece for Nicky Woodrow, Ben Steele and Ashley Banner and also a goal each for Nathan Banner and James Stanmore for the on fire Vikings.

Herbrandston gave their chances of staying up a boost with an impressive 4-2 win at home against Pennar Robins. Haydn Dimond, Shane Walsh, Simon Mathias, Ali Ouzman scored for Herbie, while Phil Thompson struck twice for the visitors.

Johnston won 3-1 against Carew at Glebelands with Joe John, Scott Murray (penalty) and Andrew Murray scoring for the Tigers, Alex Bailey scored the visitors’ only goal.

Merlins Bridge lost 0-2 at home against Neyland; the Nomads sealed the points with goals from Henry Durrant and Mike Chandler.

Bottom of the table St Clears drew 1-1 at home against Milford United. Liam Davies scored to give the visitors the lead, but the Saints equalised through Nathan Evans.

West Dragons drew 2-2 at home against Narberth. An own goal and Scott Crawford scored for the Dragons, while the visitors secured a point with goals by Steve Thomas and Ade Jones.
