Merlins Bridge 6 – Monkton Swifts 2

Merlins Bridge struck no less than six goals against out of sorts Monkton Swifts at the impressive new 4G ground based at the Haverfordwest High School.

The Wizards have moved from the Racecourse to the superb facility; however, it was the visitors who took the lead through Ben Steele following a howler by unwell goalkeeper Jake Dickson.

It was short-lived as the Wizards soon got their act together, as they bagged four goals in a ten-minute purple patch.

Fraser Finlay set-up Joe Leahy who finished with aplomb from the edge of the 18-yard box to level matters. Minutes later Dai Davies finished clinically at the far post for his side’s second, Alfie drilled home the third, and Leahy made no mistake from the spot to give his side a healthy 4-1 cushion at half time.

Just past the hour mark Steele banged home from the spot, but any thoughts of a Swifts comeback were soon dispelled as Stotter added his sides fifth plus substitute David Cromwell banged in the sixth.

Saints edge seven-goal thriller

St Clears 4 – Fishguard Sports 3

The visitors took an early lead through Greg Hughes who made no mistake from inside the box.

The lead was short lived as striker Steve Thomas equalised thanks to a neat Josh Jones assist, on the half hour mark Will Evans netted that gave The Saints a slender 2-1 cushion at half time.

In the 69th minute 18-year-old Luke Thomas reduced the arrears with a well taken second goal, ten minutes later substitute Kyran Lewis bagged a crucial fourth for the hosts.
