Nathan Greene scored a well taken brace to help league leaders Goodwick United claim another important win, this time at sixth placed Carew.
 
This game was rightly billed the match of day, in midweek man of the moment Greene scored a crucial goal to help Goodwick beat Tenby to reach the Senior Cup final, whilst last week the Rooks impressively won in extra time against Evans Williams to reach the West Wales Intermediate Cup semi-finals.
 
The visitors took an early lead as skipper Scott Delaney struck, just 12 minutes later opposite skipper Sonny Phillips equalised through a neat Shaun Whitfield assist.
 
Midway through the first period Greene restored the visitors’ lead, but again the Rooks hit back as Adam Muskett found the back of James Gwilt’s net.
 
On stroke of half time Greene struck for his second to edge his side 3-2 ahead at half time.
 
After the break the game was evenly contested until the 54th minute after wide-sided midfielder Daniel James was on target for his side’s fourth which wrapped up victory.

Clarbeston Road gained a hard fought narrow victory over a spirited Pennar Robins outfit at a wet Knockfield ground.
 
In an even first period, it was the visitors who broke finally the deadlock in the 34th minute after striker Ben John buried a chance from inside the box.
 
Two minutes after the break Matthew Ellis doubled the Road’s lead, but in the 75th minute striker Phil Thompson replied for the visitors, it set-up a tense final 15 minutes, but Matthew Fox’s Road stood firm for the remainder to ensure they did the double over the Robins this season having won 6-3 at Bush Camp last month.

Britton shines for title-seeking Vikings

Jack Britton - man of match display for Hakin against FishguardJack Britton starred for Hakin United who comfortably despatched of Fishguard Sports at a heavy Tregroes Ground.
 
Impressive central midfielder Britton had a hand in three of the Vikings’ four goals, two assists and he also scored.
 
Scott Davies’ Vikings got off to a flayer as they opened the scoring in the ninth minute, the menacing Leon Luby cut in from the right wing, when he reached the edge of the 18 yard box, he let fly with a low drive which flew in the bottom corner.
 
The Vikings added a second in the 25th minute, Britton’s precision ball split the Sports’ defence which allowed Adam ‘Titch’ John to latch onto it, he rounded keeper Ryan Sinnott before the wide sided midfielder calmly stroked the ball into an empty net.
 
After the break, the Vikings had to wait until the 72nd minute before they added their third, it stemmed from a Luby corner which fell kindly for Britton to finish from ten yards.
 
In the 79th minute the Vikings bagged their fourth, Britton’s corner fell to Garin Gardner who made no mistake from close range.
 
In the 92nd minute the Sports pulled back a consolation goal which was credited to the unmarked Scott Edwards who got on the end of a cross from the right.

Wizards come good in second half

Jamie Palmer - opened the scoring for Merlins BridgeFour unanswered second half goals earned Merlins Bridge back-to-back wins for the first time since December at the expense of rock bottom St Clears at the Pembrokeshire Sports Village.
 
Wizards’ boss Jay Kennedy’s team were frustrated in the opening 45 minutes where the Saints battled for every scrap of possession.
 
The visitors were unlucky not to take the lead as stand-in Wizards’ keeper Ben Henton pulled off a superb save at full stretch to deny Jonathan Seeley’s who struck a curling effort from the edge of the 18 yard box.
 
However, the second period belonged to the Wizards as defender Jamie Palmer found the back of Daniel James’ net.
 
That goal settled the Wizards’ nerves as they grew in confidence, they were rewarded when teenager striker Lewis Miller added the second.
 
The Bridge kept pressing before Lee Hudgell was in the right place at the right time to add the third, seven minutes from the end saw substitute Steffan Morgan-Davies who struck the fourth to complete the scoring.
