Goodwick too hot for Tenby
Goodwick United 4 – Tenby 0
Champions Goodwick United started their first game of the new year with an emphatic four-goal victory against Tenby at Pheonix Park.
Chris O’Sullivan’s Goodwick team led 3-0 at the break and added one more in the second period as they are now two points clear at the top of the table, with second placed Hakin United, who have played one more game, lost at home against Clarbeston Road.
The Phoenix Lads scored two goals in as many minutes midway through the first period, Rhys Jones scored with a trademark 25 yard free kick for the opener, the second was created by a long Steff Hayes’ throw which was flicked on by skipper Scott Delaney for Jones to nod in his second of the game.
Delaney assisted again for the second goal of the afternoon for Goodwick’s third, the skipper teed-up Daniel James who scored with a bullet strike.
After the break the hosts kept matters tight despite Tenby trying their best to unlock the hosts solid defence.
On the hour mark Goodwick added their fourth, James made good ground down the wing before his cross was met by a Scott Delaney shot which was parried by keeper Dylan Noot, only for Rhys Dalling who made no mistake as he fired his firm rebound from 12 yards which crashed into the back of the net.

Robins narrowly beat Nomads at Bush Camp
Pennar Robins 2 – Neyland 1
After a fortnight's festive break, it was the Robins who sealed their fourth win of the season as they sit eighth in the table and the Nomads are ninth.
Goals by Liam Williams and Nick Willis either side of half time put the hosts in the driving seat, the Nomads scored a late consolation effort through Josh Watts.
The Robins got off to a dream start as they took the lead in the sixth minute when a long throw-in by Ross Jones was flicked on inside the box by Ceri Griffiths which allowed Williams to score at the far post with a calm composed finish.
The Robins doubled the lead in 72nd minute when an excellent run down the left wing by Conner Willis saw him beat Sean Hannon for pace before he neatly cut-back for his brother Nick who lashed the ball into the roof of the net from 12 yards.
In the 78th minute the visitors pulled one back, it stemmed from a corner which was failed to be cleared as Watts struck a vicious strike off the underside of the bar, the hosts stayed firm for the remainer to claim the precious points.

Battling Sports edged out by Wizards
Fishguard Sports 0 – Merlins Bridge 1
Merlins Bridge claimed a hard fought one-goal victory against bottom of the table Fishguard Sports at Tregroes Park.
On paper this looked as if it would be a routine win for the Wizards who are currently sitting third in the table.
But a dogged display by Phil Jones’ Sports outfit meant the visitors did not have everything their own way.
The only goal of the game was scored in the 41st minute as substitute Tom Jago struck the back of David Pepper’s net.

Griffiths hat-trick hero secures Carew derby win
Carew 3 – Kilgetty 1
Marcus Griffiths scored a superb hat-trick to help struggling Carew to a much needed victory against derby rivals Kilgetty.
This was only the Rooks’ third win of the campaign as they currently uncomfortably sit third from bottom in the table whilst Kilgetty are just one place below, second from bottom.
A foul in the box set-up Griffiths who made no mistake from the spot for the opening goal of the clash, five minutes later Charlie Perkins’ clever through ball enabled Griffiths to beat keeper Richard Webb in a one-on-one which gave his team a healthy 2-0 lead at half time.
The second period was a cagey affair until the 76th minute following a goalmouth melee which Griffiths scored through a crowded area to give him and the Rooks a three-goal cushion.
Sam Christopher was sent off five minutes from full time to reduce his side to ten-men, then two minutes later Kilgetty scored following good work by Lloyd Hughes who’s cross was toe-poked home by Adam Johns for a consolation goal for the visitors.

Fantastic John solo double sinks Vikings
Hakin United 1 – Clarbeston Road 4
Two brilliant solo goals by striker Ben John earned Clarbeston Road a shock win against title seeking Hakin United at the Obs.
Before this clash Clarby Road had earlier in the season dumped Hakin United out of the Senior Cup, however Justin ‘Skinny’ Harding's team came into this clash looking for redemption.
However, Matt Fox’s Clarby Road outfit had other ideas as they picked up a second win in a row which hasn’t happened before in The Road’s history.
Midway through the first period the visitors scored twice in the space of as many minutes, former Viking Laurie Haworth struck the opener before the shell shocked Vikings were rocked by Matthew Davies who was on target with his side’s second.
In the 23rd minute the Vikings pulled one back as Jordan Richards struck a superb 12 yard volley which flew in the back of Rhys Mansell’s net.
Just before half time, John added an excellent third, the striker dribbled past three defenders before he nutmegged stand-in goalkeeper Ben Aldred, which gave the Road a 3-1 cushion at half time.
In the second half both teams created chances, but in the 73rd minute another bit of solo brilliance saw John beat a few Vikings’ defenders before the striker buried a low shot in the bottom corner to secure three massive points for Clarby Road whilst Hakin will need to quickly return to winning ways if they are realistically going to be title contenders.
Hakin United: Ben Aldred, Kieran King, Tom Llewellin, Jay Power, Jake Merry, Louis Thompson, Shane Walsh, Alfie Stotter, Jordan Richards, Ryan Wilson (Captain), Jack Griffiths. Subs: Finley Armstrong, Justin Harding, Ashley Bevan.
