Talented twosome
takes Gymnastics gold medals
Two extremely talented Pembrokeshire gymnasts have just returned from a recent West Wales gymnastics event with gold medals to their names.
Tia Williams and Tae Osborne aged five and six respectively, were former members of Haverfordwest Gymnastics club but now train at Llanelli Gymnastics Club up to three times a week, so their successes in this competition were reward for commitment by themselves and their families, who support them to the full.
Tia takes individual silver and team gold
Tia lives in Burton and is a pupil at Mount Airey School, Haverfordwest, and has had gymnastics success since the age of four. However this was the first time competing in a big five-piece apparatus artistic competition. She took every aspect of the competition in her stride and it was evident to see that she is at home on the gymnastics' floor and a real natural talent.
Tia was awarded a silver medal on the vault, silver medal on the tumble, gold medal on the bars as well as scoring highly on the beam and range.
As a result of her performances Tia was crowned the West Wales five-year old artistic champion, making her the youngest overall artistic gold medallist ever in Pembrokeshire. To add to this success, Tia picked up another gold medal for her contribution to the team score.
Tae picks up team gold
and shows real elegance
Tae Osborne lives in Hill Mountain and attends the Cleddau Reach School in Llangwm, performing very elegant routines with such maturity for a gymnast so young.
She also picked up a gold medal for her faultless routine on the bars, was positioned ninth overall, and her strong and consistent performances for Llanelli meant she was also part of a gold-winning team.
Both girls would like to thank Carol Sergeant and her coaching team at Llanelli Gymnastics Club and also Jadie and Suzanne of Elements Gymnastics Academy, Pembroke.
