Rhys Dalling scored an 86th minute winner that secured Haverfordwest County their first Welsh League Division One win of the season from three outings.
This win will be a big boost to the Bluebirds camp, after suffering two slender defeats they have finally broken their duck, by claiming three precious points on the road.
Sean uses his head
After dominating the first half the visitors were rewarded with a well taken goal in the 20th minute, Lee Hudgell’s excellent corner fell invitingly for Bluebirds skipper Sean Pemberton who powered home a header.
In the second period the visitors had The Bulldogs constantly on the back foot and they should have added further goals as Dalling failed to despatch a one-on-one with the home custodian, then headed over the crossbar from six yards.
All square
On the 70 minute mark The Bulldogs equalised through striker Leon Jacker who deftly lobbed James Gwilt from 25 yards out, at that stage a draw looked on the cards.
But the game took a dramatic twist four minutes from full time; Kristian Speake’s cross from the left was met at the far post by substitute Alfie Stotter, who headed unselfishly across the box for Dalling who headed home a timely winner.
