Haverfordwest County came from two goals behind to claim a brilliant victory at Undy Athletic.

The visitors trailed 1-0 at half time as Gareth Cullimore pounced on a James Gwilt error.

Shortly after the break and the team from Monmouthshire added a second goal, James Barnes was in acres of space and slotted past Gwilt, which saw the visitors deep in trouble.


Masterstroke


However, Bluebirds bosses Sean Cresser and Chris O’Sullivan pulled off a masterstroke as they brought on Rhydian Davies.

Within five minutes of coming on Rhydian Davies cut in from the right and drilled in a low shot in the far corner, then minutes later the visitors were awarded a penalty that super sub Rhydian Davies coolly despatched to level matters.

The Bluebirds kept pressing and were rewarded in the 85th minute when good work by Rhys Dalling set-up skipper Sean Pemberton who slotted home the winner that completed a superb fight back by the delighted Bluebirds.

Last Tuesday evening Haverfordwest County thrashed Port Talbot Town 6-2 to on the Conygar Bridge Meadow to progress into the next round of the Nathaniel MG Cup, the Bluebirds’ goal scorers were Rhydian Davies (penalty), Steffan Davies, Rhys Dalling, Alfie Stotter, Steffan Williams and an own goal.

Haverfordwest County have drawn Welsh Premier Aberystwyth Town at home in the next round on Tuesday, October 4th, where former Bluebirds manager Wayne Jones, now with the Seasiders, will surely receive a warm welcome.
