Haverfordwest County were too strong for Penrhiwceiber Rangers FC, the visitors scored five goals to cruise into the quarter finals of the League Cup at the Glasbrook.
Penrhiwceiber Rangers FC are currently sitting second from bottom in the Welsh League Division Three, and have only one league win under their belt so far this season.
Despite losing heavily last Tuesday at Barry Town United, the Welsh League Division One outfit had to get back on track, and they did in true style in this cup tie.
Williams strikes
The visitors opened the scoring in the 12th minute when Steffan Williams scored with a fine finish, and that was the only goal of the first half.
In the second period, The Bluebirds scored an early second goal to settle the nerves; Steffan Davies unselfishly squared to Ashley Bevan who drilled in from close range.
Greg Walters added a third on the hour mark, a delightful through ball by Chris O’Sullivan to Bevan, the striker looked up and threaded the ball to Walters to lash home from short range.
Rhys Dalling added the fourth in the 70th minute; the substitutes cut in from the right and unleashed a low left foot shot that flew in the bottom corner.
Spot on
In the 85th minute the visitors grabbed their fifth goal of the tie when Steffan Williams was fouled inside the box, and Rhydian Davies made no mistake with the resulting penalty to seal a much better day at the office for The Bluebirds.
