Monmouth Town 3 – Haverfordwest County 2

Monmouth Town came from two-goals adrift to claim a superb victory against Haverfordwest County at the Sports Ground.

The visitors got off to a flyer when Steffan Williams opened the scoring in the fourth minute; the striker sweetly struck a half volley from the edge of the 18 yard area which flew into the back of the net.

Five minutes before the interval Williams bagged his second goal of the game; the small men headed home from a corner and gave his side a healthy two-goal cushion at half time.

However, The Kingfishers came out all guns blazing in the second period, Kieran Knight pulled a goal back for his side, and The Bluebirds lost concentration and before they knew it Lewis Davies equalised.

The terrific fightback was complete when George Anthony drilled in the winner, and right at the end Steff Williams missed a penalty to square matters, and leaving the Haverfordwest County Camp scratching their heads in total disbelief.
