Nathanial MG Cup – First Round
Haverfordwest County 3 – Llanelli Town 0
Bluebirds’ manager Sean Cresser was prepared to let his young guns have a run out against The Reds and boy they didn’t disappoint at the Conygar Bridge Meadow Stadium.
He rested many of his tried and trusted, and was rewarded as three teenagers’ bagged goals to secure The Bluebirds place in the second round.
Cresser has his say...
“Just pleased to give our young local lads an opportunity and a good amount of game time,” said Cresser.
“They all put in a decent shift, and scored three terrific goals and also kept a clean sheet as a bonus.
“All of them played well and took their opportunity at playing at this higher level.
“It now gives me a bit of a headache as far as team selection is concerned for this Saturday’s game.”
Jack buries opener
Tom Dyson was unlucky not to add a second in the 25th minute, the midfielder unleashing a vicious shot that crashed against the crossbar.
The second goal was scored on the 65 minute mark, when impressive striker Ben Fawcett powered home a header, then five minutes from the final whistle Fraser Finlay tapped home a delightful Martyn Carroll cross from the right.
