There was a pleasing presentation at The Bridge Meadow Stadium prior to the Haverfordwest County versus Aberystwyth match, made by Haverfordwest Town Council to The Bluebirds Supporters’ Association in recognition of their good work in the community.
So making the presentation of a framed certificate of commendation was Cllr Alan Buckfield, the Mayor of Haverfordwest, who explained how his council was aware of the good work undertaken by all under the guidance of Wyndham Williams, the club’s Community Officer, alongside all the club’s stewards, kitchen staff, ground staff and other workers.
Cllr Buckfield presented the framed certificate in recognition of the Bluebirds’ achievements to Barry Vaughan, the former club secretary and now chairman of The Bluebirds’ Supporters’ Club, who thanked the town council for their recognition.
Club chairman Rob Edwards told PembrokeshireSport.co.uk:
I’m really delighted by this local recognition for our hardy band of volunteers because I am very eager that as well as providing top Welsh Football for the town and county we should do all we possibly can to help in as many ways as possible for the whole community.
“We have made a good start under impetus provided by Wyndham Williams, our Community Manager and we will continue to be involved and help in as wide a range of ways as possible.”
