Successful year for Seals Swimmers

Most Improved Female Swimmer Louisa Twigg, receiving the Mayor's Award from Cllr Ken Wyburn.Haverfordwest Seals Swimming Club recently rounded off the 2012 Olympic Year with their presentation evening, when over 110 people were present at Haverfordwest RFC who provided excellent food and facilities to complement the entertainment from the Matthew Price Disco. 

Guest of honour for the evening was The Mayor of Haverfordwest, Cllr Ken Wyburn, alongside a number of sponsors from the Olympic Legacy initiative which allowed the Club to revamp their trophies. 

Records and trophies galore

Those present saw over seventy trophy presentations from the Club championships, which saw twenty seven new pool records broken and thirteen all time records achieved.  Jordan Harding, who alongside Kelsey Williams continues to represent Wales with aplomb, achieved the notable feat of establishing ten new all-time records.

The Mayor was able to present all swimmers present with their certificates and also assist with the presentation of a number of awards. Included for the first time was the Mayor's Awards, for the most improved male and female swimmer, which went this year to Travis Christopher Mullin and Louisa Twigg respectfully.

Support sought

The Haverfordwest Seals Swimming Club was established in 1969 and all the parents and supporters are very grateful for the support received from individuals and businesses within the Town allowing the Club to develop further the next generation of young swimmers.  Any former member of the Club or interested person is urged to contact the Club, either in person at our home base of Haverfordwest Leisure Centre or via www.haverfordwestsealsswimmingclub.weebly.com.
