KO Cup finalists determined

It wasn’t all doom and gloom for the Hook B side as they were presented with their division two runners-up medals.

Saundersfoot and the British Legion A will meet in the final of the Pembrokeshire Snooker League KO Cup after both teams recently won their semi finals, in a format of five frames of singles, decided on an aggregate score basis.

Seaside team too strong overall

Playing at the Black Rabbit Club against Hook A, Saundersfoot got off to a shaky start with captain Glyn Davies being beaten by eight points by Martin Davies.

But the Foot’s Darren Morgan hit back in the second with a 31-point win. Hook’s John Davies beat Martin Durham in a low scoring affair by 12, but the winning performance of the evening came from David Wooles with a 46-point winning margin over Alistair Platten.

David Ludlow had another 40-odd victory over David Francis in the last frame to seal a comfortable win over the seaside club.

Malloy leads Legion by example

Playing Hook B in the other semi final at the Balfour Club, David Malloy got his British Legion team off to a great start with a 50-point win over Tim John in the first frame.

Mark McCarthy kept the momentum going in the second frame with a five-point win over Richard James, but Steve

John had a good 36-point victory for the Hook team over Richard Jones.
The Legion’s Paul Malloy gained an important 36-point win over division two singles champion Matthew Holder, and all Gareth Barrett had to do was keep his nerve in the last frame against John Davies to see his team through to the final.
