Tenby too strong for hard-working Hakin

Hakin United 0 - Tenby 4

Tenby showed what a strong team they have as they scored four goals without reply against a gritty Hakin side which deserves credit for battling away but in the final analysis didn’t have the all-round fire-power of their opponents.

Charlie Gregory gave Tenby the lead with a 25-yard shot which proved to be the only goal of the period as Hakin also had their chances.

But then a speculative shot from 30 yards out by George Rossiter doubled Tenby’s lead before they made the game safe when Gregory grabbed his second from a free kick outside the area.

With three minutes left Gregory completed his hat-trick when his side were awarded a penalty and he scored from the spot.

Hill the Clarbie hero with deserved hat-trick

Clarbeston Road 3 - Tenby 2
(After extra time - score 1-1 at full time)

Osian Hill was the toast of his Clarbeston Road team-mates as he grabbed an excellent hat-trick of goals to give his team victory over a talented Tenby side which had remained unbeaten all season and twice took the lead, the second occasion in extra time.

But Hill pegged them back on both occasions and grabbed the dramatic winner with a penalty shoot-out seeming likely, when assistant referee Dave Badger signalled a penalty and Hill found the net to give his team the winners' medals.

Tenby played some good football and deservedly went ahead with a good goal by Archie Hughes after some good interplay - but Osian Hill levelled matters to take the game into extra time.
Again Tenby went in front through a well-taken goal by Ollie Morris but Hill once more hauled his side level with his second score.

With just three minutes remaining, and with penalties a distinct possibility, assistant ref Dave Badger signalled to referee Keith McNiffe that a foul had been committed in the box and up stepped Osian Hill to grab the vital winner to send the Clarbie faithful home with the trophy and leave Tenby with their runners-up medals as scant reward for their part in a thoroughly entertaining tussle.

Tenby take another trophy with strong display

Clarbeston Road 1 - Tenby 3

Tenby played really well to overcome a very useful Clarbeston Road side which battled hard but lacked Tenby’s finishing power.

Tate Lawrence, Jamie Bartlett and James Gardner grabbed the vital goals for Tenby as Sebastien Owens replied for Clarbie, who had Joe Pritchard, Joe Griffiths and Josh Hardman all playing well.

They also hit the woodwork but were prevented from making further headway by some excellent keeping for Tenby by Dylan Noott as his side were ultimately good value for victory.

Young Vikings show their class against plucky Young Wizards

Hakin United 4 - Merlins Bridge 1

Hakin United demonstrated their all-round talents with a convincing win over a plucky Merlins Bridge side which never gave up trying but couldn't quite match the opposition in key areas, and earned Daisy Picton's boys the coveted treble of league, cup and West Wales Cup.

Hakin took the lead with a good strike by Jake Merry and they doubled their lead direct from a free kick from outside the area which Cameron Thomas sent flying into the corner of the net.

Whenever Merlins Bridge looked to claw their way back they were thwarted by Hakin keeper Jack Ackermann and his back four of Alexander Mason, James Williams, Jay Power and Jack Evans.

In the second half there were further goals for the Young Vikings as Lee Davies made it 3-0 and then Ben Fawcett's commanding play saw him add their fourth goal.

It says much for the Bridge's determination that they never gave up trying to play good football and their efforts were finally rewarded with a consolation score from Ewan Page after some good work by Alaric Jones.

Cam come through in a tight tussle

Camrose 1 - Tenby 0

This was a real battle between two well-matched teams in a titanic struggle before Camrose took the honours with a superb goal by Sion Williams on the Conygar Bridge Meadow pitch.

In a goalless first half both teams, who are packed with quality players, had half chances and perhaps Tenby just shaded the interval verdict in terms of possession.

It was a similar story after the interval as it became evident that a single goal might prove decisive and it came when Tenby only half-cleared a corner and Williams punished them to the full as he volleyed home a match-winning strike.
