Number 9 - Name: Karter Williams
Age: 10
Club played for:
Neyland RFC under 12s & Pembrokeshire county schools under 11’s. I was captain for the county against Mynydd Mawr and we won by 4 tries to 3.
Position: No 8 like one of my favourite forwards Taulupe Faletau, who is brilliant for Wales.
People who have helped me
My coaches Jack Kinnersley, Andrew Phillips & Shane Abbott – they all shout at us when we are wrong but it just makes us laugh a bit. My mum Sian has also taken me everywhere, especially to four lots of training a week – she’s a great taxi driver!
Successes? Captaining the winning Neyland side for the Pembrokeshire under 11s Cup Final last season and playing in the Welsh Bowl Final at the Principality Stadium for Pembrokeshire Schools Rugby under 11’s. We lost to Neath but it was a great experience
Favourite local players? My now-retired dad Mathew, who was a great player, my brothers Ben and George are my favourites now, with George playing in the centre but injured at the moment.
Other sports played? Football for my age group in Neyland. I’m left-footed and play in midfield and love tackling – and I also enjoy cricket, for Neyland where I bowl and bat right-handed!.
Ambition? To play rugby at the Principality Stadium again in the future – this time with a Welsh shirt on.
