Narberth Dynamos are one of the latest clubs to benefit from support by the Sport Pembrokeshire Community Chest Scheme and is a rapidly expanding cycling club which now has over 50 members.
The Dynamos were formed in 2010 by Andrew Rees and the club has gone from strength to strength since then, having just completed their winter training programme run by Nick Brown of NB Cycle Coaching.
Generous support from Community Chest
It was undertaken thanks to the generous support of Sport Pembrokeshire Community Chest, and with grants totalling £3,000 the Dynamos were able to hire the sports hall at the Bloomfield Community Centre, Narberth and purchase a number of turbo trainers. In addition, the funding will enable three club members to work towards their Level 2 Certificates in Coaching Cycling awarded by the British Cycling Federation.
The winter training programme was also supported by a grant from South Hook LNG’s Community Development Programme

Get in the saddle now
Sunday club rides run through the year starting from the Bloomfield Community Centre upper car park at 9.00am and now the clocks have changed, weekday rides are starting from the same place at 6.00pm (6.30pm from May) on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Details of the rides are posted on the Narberth Dynamos website forum (www.narberthdynamos.co.uk/forum) and there is normally a choice of a 30 and 60 mile route on Sundays and between a 15 and 25 mile ride on weekday evenings. The club is keen to attract new members and cyclists of all abilities are welcome to come along and join one of their rides.

Club membership is £10.00 per year with membership forms available to download from the website. Narberth Dynamos’ cycling jerseys and water bottles can be purchased from Fossa Sports, Bethesda.
