Sports development team take bronze

Pembrokeshire County Council’s sports development team - Sport Pembrokeshire - has been praised for its work with disabled people and the team has been awarded an ‘insport’ Bronze award.
 
Run by Disability Sport Wales, the’ insport’ award programme supports local authorities, clubs and sport governing bodies provide sporting opportunities for disabled people.
 
The four-stage programme includes four levels of achievement - Ribbon, Bronze, Silver and Gold.
 

Ben’s extremely proud of his team

 
Ben Field, Manager of Sport Pembrokeshire, said they were delighted to have been awarded a Bronze accreditation.
 
“As a department we are extremely proud of our achievement but at the same time we do not underestimate the amount of work which is still to be done in providing high quality sporting opportunities for disabled athletes,” he said.
 
Jon Morgan Executive Director for Disability Sport Wales said Pembrokeshire’s achievement reflected a lot of effort and commitment by the local authority.
“We look forward to supporting Pembrokeshire as it strives to reach ‘insport’ Silver,” he said.
