Afterwards they watched the Wales versus Denmark international in the VIPs’ enclosure clutching the magnificent trophy awarded to The Bluebirds as the 2017/18 season for being the Welsh League Division One winners of the Football Association of Wales ‘Fair Play’ award.
The Bluebirds came out on top after having the fewest number of red and yellow cards during the season – and their reward was a full-size glass replica of a football, suitably engraved, which will now stay with other memorabilia in their trophy cabinet at their Conygar Bridge Meadow Clubhouse.
“We were delighted to receive the good news that we were the winners and as well as our trophy the club received a cash prize of £1,000,” said Barry Vaughan.
“We have always prided ourselves on our positive approach to playing the game and are also doing well again so far this season,” added David Hughes, “and our players are to be congratulated on the fact – and our supporters are delighted!”
