Borderettes bounce back in style

Whitland Ladies 47 - Kidwelly Ladies 10

Nat Walsh off loads for Whitland Ladies. With a whole back line returning from injury or sunning themselves in Dubai, Whitland Ladies were back to full strength for this return fixture at Parc Llwyn Ty Gwyn.

The first half started with Whitland on the attack and after some strong driving play from Sara Davies, Ceris Moyle and Angharad Williams the ball was eventually moved away through the back line for  Nat Walsh to power through a couple of defenders to score under the posts, making an easy conversion for Cath Davies.

Cath was next on the score sheet after following up her own kick ahead she touched down wide out for an unconverted try. Kidwelly though were not going to be as easy to beat as the away fixture and after some excellent off loading the visitors crashed over for a well-worked try. From the kick off a powerful break up field by Vicky Owens was moved wide for pacey winger Allana Jones to outstrip the cover defence before scoring under the posts and the conversion was kicked by Cat Davies. With the last play of the half Whitland gave away a penalty at the breakdown and power house scrum half Keely Evans's quick tap caught the home defence napping as she crossed wide out.

Real pace and power pays off

The second half was all out attack from Whitland, with Alice James returning to the outside half slot and Nat Walsh returning to the more familiar thirteen shirt, it wasn't long before quick ball from the forwards was moved wide to speedy Helen Price, who sprinted half the pitch to score a try under the posts converted by Davies.

Walsh was next to score after she gathered a kick ahead by Davies and touched down under the posts and Davies again converted. With the Kidwelly defence tiring, Vicky Owens made a break from her own half before good cover defence by Kidwelly caught her ten metres out -but great support work by Alice James was rewarded with a try under the posts, converted by Davies. The final score of the game brought up the hat trick for Walsh as she stepped through the Kidwelly midfield and sprinted half the pitch to score under the posts for Cath Davies to convert.
