South Pembs Golf Club
The ladies section of South Pembrokeshire Golf Club recently held their annual open day and the overall winners were the host club.
The day was fine to start, although a few did get caught in a short sharp shower later in the day – but this did not dull the enjoyment of the entrants including players from other clubs in this greensomes foursomes competition.
South Pembs pairs do well
The overall winners from the South Pembrokeshire Club were Lynne Rees and Anita Davies with 39 points. The runners up, also from South Pembrokeshire, were Sara Alderman and Becky Jones with 36 points. Third was the Haverfordwest pairing of Ann Owen and Eileen Ticehurst with 34 points.
The nearest the pin was won by Ann Harvison, and longest drive by Ann Williams – both from the South Pembrokeshire club, whilst no-one managed a two on any hole..
Neat prizes
The winning and runner up teams each received designer leather handbags, and the third pairing won Osprey leather purses each. Nearest the pin and longest drives received jewellery boxes.
The lady captain, Janet Tallett, thanked everyone for competing, especially those from other clubs and she was assured by the visitors that they had a very pleasant day, on a course in immaculate condition, which ended with an enjoyable meal in the club restaurant after the game.
