Cardiff Met 0 - Whitland 36

 Borderettes bag big city win
The Borderettes travelled to Cardiff expecting a tough game against the students of Cardiff Metropolitan University but the power of the Whitland pack and the pace of their young backs was too much for their young counterparts.

The first try came after No 8 Natalie Walsh ripped through the home defence and offloaded to Delyth Davies who was held up over the line, Walsh touched down at the back of the resultant scrum which was well controlled by the front row of Ceris Moyle, Sara Davies and Sara Madeni Davies.

Tries come at regular intervals

The tries came at regular intervals after this. Moyle powered over from close range after a super kick up field by Davies, centre Lucy Demaine rounded off a good team effort after the pack had driven up field and the ball was moved swiftly along the back line for her to touch down.

Tammy Howells, making a rare appearance for the Green and Whites, touched down wide out after a sweeping move instigated by Alice James in the 10 shirt, before Elena Ciccotti on the other flank touched down after another backline move and the final try of the half came after a Cardiff scrum was turned over and the ball popped out the side for the ever-alert Emma Summons to beat Flanker Elin Hywel to the touchdown, Demaine also added three conversions to make the half time score 0 - 31.

The second half was a stop start affair with the man in the middle blowing his whistle at every opportunity, which resulted in the Borderettes only adding one more try to their tally and this was scored by Caryl Griffiths, who scored after a 30 metres sprint down the touchline.

Player of the Match went to No 8 Natalie Walsh.
