Congratulations to Pembroke B as they finally broke their competitive duck with their first win, against St Ishmaels, with their A team enjoying their second success as Neyland played really well on the night to win the other two matches.

Pembroke A - beat St Ishmaels

Neyland (75 for 5) beat Pembroke A (61 all out)

Pembroke A continue to improve and although they lost against an experienced Neyland team which batted first to reach 75 for 5 they gave chase and after their eight overs were only 14 runs adrift.

Neyland started well via an opening stand of 33 by Jade Morgan (11) and Maddie Potter (15), with some middle order batting by Kelly Midgley (12) and Beth Chapman (16) before both were run out.

Hollie Allen returned fine figures of 2 for 17 alongside steady bowling by Hollie Allen (0 for 13) and Leanne Panton (0 for 13)

.When Pembroke batted Nicole White (3) and Hollie Allen (4) fell to Maddie Potter and Beth Chapman, who also shifted Bobbie Neale without scoring, but Panton (19) and Ginny Davies batted really well together before the former became Potter’s second victim and Ginny Davies topped the batting with a superb 31 in only 17 balls before she was run out late on and Pembroke’s brave attempt fell short.

Neyland - won both games

St Ishmaels - still battling away

Pembroke A (71 for 2) beat St Ishmaels (64 all out)

Lucy Patterson - runs, wickets and catches for TishLeanne Panton 27, 19 and 2 for 8 for PembrokePembroke A were quickly back in action and gained their second win of the campaign as they eased home by seven runs against St Ishmaels  as Leanne Panton (27) and Ginny Davies (27) built a substantial second wicket stand after Nicole White (5) was run out.  and a measure of the way they performed came from the fact that their team had 19 threes from good running between the wickets. Lucy Patterson (0 for 9) and Tracy Chandra (0 for 17) were the pick of the Tish bowlers as Pembroke A settled for 71 for 2 in their allotted eight overs.

Leanne Panton gave Pembroke a wonderful start as they fielded, bowling ace run makers Tracy Chandra (0) and Lauren Sutton (1) in a 2-8 two-over spell.

Bobby Neale departed to a Panton catch off Bobby Neale (1 for 7) and although Lucy Patterson scored 30 before she was run out Tish were never able to get in front of the required run rate and Pembroke were home and dry.

Neyland (78 for 4) beat Pembroke B (42 all out)

Ginny Davies - runs in both games for Pembroke Neyland were again in form with this comfortable win over Pembroke B as they played well, whilst there were encouraging signs for Pembroke B as Jodie Lewis and Chloe Jones bowled well, with Lewis also batting steadily alongside Nirvana Thomas.

Jade Louise Major and Maddie Potter gave Neyland another solid start before Potter (10 in 4 balls) was bowled by Karen Evans - but Kelly Midgley maintained the momentum with 22 from 14 balls before she was run out.

Jodie Lewis grabbed 2 for 17 late on and the Neyland innings was taken to a decent total thanks to 25 not out in 24 balls by a steady knock by Major.

Pembroke started their innings with a whimper as Major then took the ball and bowled Karen Evans for 2 as Bryony Shallcross was run out without scoring, and although Jodie Lewis (14) and Nirvana Thomas (15) steadied things down they were never able to sufficiently raise the tempo enough to make a challenge, with both falling to Bethan Chapman alongside Chloe Jones as part of a two-over spell that gave Bethan a great 3 for 8 haul.

Pembroke B - won their first game ever

Pembroke B (51 all out) beat St Ishmaels (46 all out)

They’ve done it at last! Congratulations to Pembroke B on their exciting win over St Ishmaels in the last game of the evening in a low-scoring tussle where they ended up victorious by five runs.

The major factor in their win was a terrific innings of 30 in 21 deliveries by Nirvana Thomas before she was caught by Lucy Patterson off Kerry Harding, with Jodie Lewis chipping in with double figures but then run out.

For Tish there was tight bowling by Linzi Picton (2 for 23), Lucy Patterson (1 for 10), Tracy Chandra (1 for 5), Kerry Harding (1 for 3) and Poppy Kucyj (0 for 6) and the pundits at the interval generally felt that the target was well with Tish’s reach.

But they reckoned without the bowling and fielding of Pembroke B and the loss of key wickets like Tracy Chandra soon had Tish on the back foot. Linzi Picton battled hard for hwer 16 and Lucy Patterson chipped in with 10 runs but with Jodie Lewis (2 for 16), Tracy White conceding only four runs in her two overs alongside Karen Evans (0 for 14) and Chloe Jones (1 for 15) it was Pembroke B who celebrated their first success in style!
