Carew cruise to Jubilee win

Carew cruised to victory over Whitland in the Jubilee Cup, the annual match between the league champions and Harrison-Allen Bowl winners.
 
Bowl winners Whitland batted first and reached 169 for 9 in their allotted 40 overs, thanks to steady innings by Dylan Blain (20), Owain Evans (32), Iestyn Scourfield (24), Mark Lee (29) and Dan James (35 not out).
 
Rhys Davies (3 for 18), Matthew Phillips (2 for 28) Tom Davies (1 for 44), Martin Scourfield (1 for 15) and Darren Thomas (1 for 29) were the Carew wicket-takers.
 
League champions Carew then showed their ability to bat well as Ian Sefton (59), James Hinchliffe (15), Lewis Hicks (15), Tom Davies (38 not out) and Rhys Davies (19 not out) took Carew home with something in hand as Dan James (2 for 21) and Iestyn Scourfield (1 for 22) claimed wickets for Whitland.
 
Thanks to Whitland for hosting the game and providing their usual excellent tea were made by Tony Scourfield, the vice-chairman of the Pembroke County Cricket Club, with the trophies presented by County Club president Dai Morris.
