Narberth strike as Llangwm flatter to deceive
Llangwm (120 all out) lost to Narberth (122 for 1)
Umpires: Arthur Brady & Tony Waldeis
Scorers: Janice Brick & Peter Hughes
After their magnificent Harrison-Allen Bowl win over Carew the previous evening, Llangwm showed how inconsistent they can be as they entertained Narberth at Pill Parks and lost by nine wickets.
The home side started well with an opening stand of 56 from Andrew Harries (three sixes in his (43) and Will Beresford (22) but Ben Quartermaine caused chaos with his splendid 5 for 10 haul from ten overs, supported by 3 for 33 on debut for Simon Cole after his transfer from Lawrenny, as the rest of the Llangwm batsman could share only 64 runs between them!
Leading the way for Narberth was opener Marc Hughes, whose rich vein of form saw him follow on from his previous two innings of 155 and 135 not out with 57 not out as his team strolled to victory in only 18 overs.
Hughes had six sixes in his powerful knock and after Ritchie Adams had been caught by Will Beresford off Darren Brick for 10 runs it was talented teenager Jordan Howell who helped Hughes take Narberth to a convincing win with a cultured 50 not out that contained seven fours and a six.

Holliday ‘ton’ puts The Town back on track
Haverfordwest (243 for 4) beat Llanrhian (156 all out)
Umpires: Allan Hansen & Richard Merriman
Scorers: Jayne Cole (Haverfordwest)
An undefeated century by Simon ‘Doc’ Holliday helped Haverfordwest gain a deserved victory by 87 runs against a gritty makeshift Llanrhian whose team was decimated by a stag weekend in Newcastle!
After putting Haverfordwest in to bat Llanrhian were soon toiling in the field as Jonathan Strawbridge had four boundaries in his 30 and Ben Field stroked ten fours in his 59 from 55 balls. At the other end, Simon Holliday announced his arrival back on the scene with a steady innings where he gradually increased the tempo so that he needed seven runs for a century in the final over.
A six took Holliday to 99 but then he was almost run out risking a quick single where the throw just missed the stumps but his unbeaten century included 11 fours and that late six.
Adam James swiped two big sixes in a speedily-compiled 25 and the pick of the Llanrhian bowlers were Luke Jones (2 for 43), Gareth Davies (1 for 39) and Christo Arundel (1 for 60).
Christo Arundel (29) and Luke Jones (41) led the Llanrhian counter-attack after tea and there was 18 for Nigel Delaney as The Town lost key bowler Adam James with a shoulder injury after he had bowled less than an over.
But Josh Wilment (3 for 48), Nigel Morgan (2 for 26) and Clive Tucker (4 for 37) all bowled well for Haverfordwest, who picked up maximum points as Llanrhian were finally dismissed in only 39 overs.

Lawrenny last pair holds on for a draw
Carew (262 for 3) drew with Lawrenny (154 for 9)
Umpires: Huw Davies & Dave Loosmore
Scorers: Robbie Hicks & Malcolm Thomas
Carew were denied their first win of the campaign after they had dominated affairs against Lawrenny in this local derby but Lawrenny’s last pair of Rob Williams and Jamie Lewis held out for the final two overs to claim a draw where Carew claimed the full points awarded for a draw.
Carew made a hugely positive start to proceedings as Rhys Davies was moved up from the middle order to partner ‘Mr Reliable’ Nick Scourfield and they went sailing past 50 and then into three figures.
They had reached a massive 224 before Davies was finally out for an impressive 121 that included 15 fours and a six, bowled by Phil Cole as part of his 2 for 56 analysis in nine overs.
Scourfield was finally dismissed for 102 (four fours and three sixes) as he gave a catch to Johnny Mathias off Steve Lewis (1 for 6) – and a late 28 from Tim Hicks (two fours and two sixes) saw Care
w race to their massive total.
Hugh Griffiths (26), Johnny Mathias (25), Steve Lewis (24) and Ina Jenkins (20) all made contributions to the Lawrenny cause but got out at key times against Steffan Davies (1 for 26), Tom Davies (4 f
or 35), Matthew Phillips (1 for 37) and Rhys Davies (3 for 27).

Tight finish in a tense draw
Cresselly (216 for 6) drew with Neyland (221 for 5)
Umpires: Dave Brandon & Peter Perry
Scorers: Dave Richards & John Laugharne
There was a tight finish at Cresselly before the home side failed by five runs to match Neyland’s score, despite a smashing 86 not out by Nick Davies.
Sean Hannon (47) was the early mainstay of the Neyland innings as he rasped six boundaries and shared a stand of 104 with Nathan Banner - but the impetus for a large final tally came from Sean’s twin Patrick and Banner as they added 70 quickly at the conclusion.
Patrick Hannon had two fours and a six in his 25 not out as Banner continued his top form with four fours and three sixes which left him on 97 not out and facing the last ball of their 45 overs.
But he was only able to score two runs to finish on a tantalising 99 not out as Sam Harts (3 for 46), Bobby Webb (1 for 41) and Stefan Jenkins (1 for 70) were the Cresselly wicket-takers.
Matthew Morgan (24) and Ryan Lewis (32) were the pick of the Cresselly batsmen until Nick Davies strode to the crease and had six sixes and five fours in his swashbuckling innings where the 33 runs needed from the last two overs was reduced to a six to tie from the final delivery by Gary Lloyd to Neilson Cole. But only a single accrued and both sides had to settle for the draw from an entertaining tussle.

Welcome maximum haul of points for Tish
Whitland (169 for 7) lost to St Ishmaels (200 for 7)
Umpires: John Williams & Dai Morris
Scorers: Janice Webb & Wendy Bradshaw
St Ishmaels did really well to chase down a big Whitland score and a boundary off the last ball faced made sure that Tish secured a welcome maximum haul of points as their reward.
The only partnership of real note in the Whitland innings was between Paul Davies and David Dunfee as this pair put on 90 runs, with Davies stroking six fours in his 57 before he was run out. Dunfee rapped five fours and two sixes in his 54 and they found support from Iestyn Scourfield (31) and Kevin Pearce (14) against the bowling of Andrew Palmer (3 for 35), Dean John 3 for 55), Danny Flynn (1 for 42) and Andrew Williams 1-23.
When Tish batted, 16 year old Dan Richards scored 19 and the bulk of the runs came from skipper Andrew Palmer (ten fours in his 59) and Andrew Williams, who again called upon his depth of experience to steer his side home with five fours in his undefeated 40.
David Dunfee (3 for 50), Jonathan Thomas (1 for 38), Mark Lee (1 for 22) and Dan James (1-22) claimed wickets for Whitland as Tish took the spoils in an interesting fore-runner before the teams meet in the quarter final of the Harrison-Allen Bowl at the same venue.
