Another excellent all-round performance by talented teenager Harry Thomas helped Cresselly to a hard-fought victory on The Racecourse against their counterparts from Haverfordwest.
Thomas claimed 1 for 23 in a tight bowling spell alongside fellow youngster Tom Arthur (4 for 7) and veterans Phil James (3 for 32) and Richard Harris (1 for 8), and topped the batting with a vital 43 that included eight boundaries.
Richard Scriven (16), Kern Cunningham (16), Chris Phillips (15) and John Murray (12) produced cameos for The Town and Ashley James batted really well for 30 runs as The Town were dismissed for 96 runs.
Murray (2 for 16), Chris Phillips (2 for 29) and James Morris (2 for 30) shared the wickets for Haverfordwest after tea but Thomas stayed strong until near the end, when 14 not out from Ashley Smith helped Cresselly reach their target with four wickets and time aplenty to spare.

Burton maintained their recent good form as they beat Stackpole at Oatfield Park by 76 runs with a good all-round team performance.
Will Ridge led the Burton batting with a classy 73 that contained 14 boundaries and he had useful support from Prasan Pusalkhar (32) and Jack Davies (31) against steady bowling from Richard MacKay (3 for 42) and James Adie (3 for 51).
Josh Davies then showed what an asset he is to Stackpole as he stroked 13 fours in his 73 but only Anthony Canton (32) stayed long as they shared a sixth-wicket stand of 70. James Scale (3 for 14), Steve Jones (2 for 11), Morgan Scale (2 for 24) and Jack Davies (2 for 26) all bowled well in the Burton cause, aided by some good fielding, and Burton’s reward was a maximum haul of 30 points as Stackpole were dismissed in 35.4 overs.

Pembroke win with ease at local derby

Pembroke made the mile-long journey to Lamphey and were soon making the return trip with a nine-wicket win tucked under their belts as they enhanced their hopes of promotion whilst pushing their neighbours further into the relegation mire.
Only Peter McGilloway (25) and Hywel Gibbs (13) managed double figures for the homesters as Ceri Brace caused chaos with his leg breaks that gave him a 5 for 24 haul. Rob Weston (3 for 21) and Jack Harries (2 for 22) were the other wicket-takers and Jonathan Rogers bowled six maidens in succession before finishing with 0 for 6 in seven overs.
It was never going to be a target to test Pembroke’s powerful batting line-up, although Weston departed for 20 (three fours and a six) before Paul White (six boundaries in his 34 not out) and Andrew Hay (12 not out) saw Pembroke over the finishing line as Hywel Gibbs was the only successful Lamphey bowler with 1 for 34.

The major contributors to the Seasiders’ score of 218 for 7 were Sam Franklin and Simon Wood, who shared in a stand of 129 before Franklyn was out for 60 (ten boundaries). Skipper Wood was back to his batting best as he moved serenely to 105 not out with 16 fours and a six from shots played all around the wicket. Dai Davies chipped in with double figures as Chris Fitzpatrick (2 for 51), Steve Mills (2 for 49), Gary James (2 for 38) and Banthu Kumarasamy (1 for 32) were the Johnston wicket-takers.
The visitors were quickly under pressure after tea as Danny Caine led the Saundersfoot bowlers with a 4 for 38 haul, whilst brother James earned 2 for 6 from his slow stuff and there was success for Jack Franklyn (2 for 10), Wood (1 for 14) and Davies (1 for 2). Fitzpatrick (19), Mills (17) and Chris Goodridge (16) all got started but then got out when they looked settled – and another precious maximum points haul was tucked safely in the Seasiders’ bag!

Whitland 2nds continued their climb up the table as they batted well against Carew 2nds and then bowled and fielded well after tea.
Dai Lee batted well early on for Whitland, his 55 containing four fours, whilst David Dunfee provided propulsion aplenty with six fours and four sixes in his 56 before Josh Watson contributed 24, and Paul Webb (27 not out) and Dafydd Evans (20 not out) took Whitland to a challenging 236 for 6 as youngsters Luke, Lewis and Dominic Hicks bowled their hearts out for Carew.
Luke Hicks (29 not out) and Lewis Hicks (24) joined Jonathan Harries (21) as the best Carew batsmen on the day but David Dunfee (5 for 25) and Paul Webb (2 for 33) were joined by Geraint Jones (1 for 30) and Stuart Harries (1 for 6) as successful Whitland bowlers in their victory.
