Neyland take a giant step towards the treble
Haverfordwest (90 all out) lost to Neyland (236 for 6)
Umpires: Trefor Evans & John Williams
Scorers: Jayne Cole & John Laugharne
Neyland took a massive step to achieving the much-coveted treble of league champions, Harrison-Allen Bowl and DR Morris Cup winners as they slammed second-placed Haverfordwest on The Racecourse in a manner befitting the champions elect.
After being put in to bat they amassed 236 for 6 through some very positive batting which stemmed from an opening stand of 65 from skipper Gregg Miller (35) and Paul Murray (seven fours in his 65) and then bowled and fielded so well that they dismissed The Town for a paltry 90.
Nick Koomen (32), Nathan Banner (28) and Ashley Sutton (39) all chipped in with useful cameos made in good time and only Haverfordwest’s resident left arm slow doctors, Simon Holliday (2 for 67) and Ajay Ravu (2 for 55) made any impact with the ball but conceded runs in the process.
The Town needed a good start in response but Holiday blitzed the first ball of their innings from Patrick Hannon straight to Gregg Miller and the Neyland skipper safely pouched the catch, to the relish of Neyland’s large band of fans.
Nick Koomen continued the pressure in a superb 6 for 25 spell alongside Andrew Miller (1 for 23), Banner (1 for 10) and Gary Lloyd (1for 2) so that only Ben Field (24) and Avron Roulstone (26) ever looked likely to score runs as Neyland won by a massive 146 runs as reward for their excellent performance, which puts them a massive 63 points ahead at the top of the table.

Llanrhian win basement battle
Llangwm (160 all out) lost to Llanrhian (196 for 4)
Umpires: Dai Morris & Tony Scourfield
Scorers: Janice Brick (Llangwm)
Llanrhian grabbed the slimmest of life lines in their basement battle at Pill Parks but in doing
Put in to bat first, Llanrhian made a slow start as only 19 runs came from their first ten overs before Ben Jones departed for 16. Jack Jones (29) and Gareth Davies then started to accelerate and Davies made Llangwm pay for the softest of dropped catches as he hit ten boundaries before he was caught by Chris Inward off Andrew Harries for a hard-hitting 83 (10 fours).
Paul Lewis also chipped in with 25 as Llangwm reached a healthy 196 for 4 as Inward (2 for 38), Harries (1 for 57) and Matthew Kiff (1 for 58) were the Llangwm wicket-takers.
Will Beresford was again the mainstay of the Llangwm innings as he struck 13 boundaries in his 69 before he fell to Christo Arundel, whose 3 for 44 spell alongside Matthew Bennett (1 for 37), Jack Jones (2 for 19), Luke Jones (1 for 34) and Lewis (2 for 3) kept the pressure firmly on the home side.
Matthew Kiff scored 32 before he was run out and Josh Davies contributed 19 but at the finish Llangwm were all out whilst still 37 runs short of victory – and under real pressure as a result!

Lawrenny a whisker away from winning
Whitland (168 for 9) drew with Lawrenny (201 for 9)
Umpires: Arthur Brady & Dave Loosmore
Scorers: Janice Webb & Malcolm Thomas
Lawrenny significantly boosted their hopes of staying in Division One as they had the better of the draw against Whitland, who were forced to hold on the tense few final deliveries as the visitors strove desperately for victory.
Lawrenny batted first and sensible contributions from Andrew Cole (35), Phil Cole (45), Joe Kidney (27), Steve Lewis (19) and Rob Williams (17 not out) set them up with a useful score of 201 for 9 as David Dunfee (2 for 36), Dan James (3 for 44), Scott Newton (2 for 27) and Steffan James (2 for 23) took the wickets for Whitland.
Steffan James also topped the Whitland batting with six fours in his 50 alongside Paul Davies (23), Jonathan Thomas (29) and Scott Newton (18) – but they lost wickets at regular intervals to Williams (1 for 48), Brad McDermott-Jenkins (4 for 32), Steve Lewis (3 for 29) and Phil Cole (1 for 51). Mark Lee and Dan James were able to hold out in the final over, though, to give their side a draw in an entertaining tussle.
Phil Cole - top scored for Lawrenny
Tish trounced at Narberth
Narberth (102 for 2) beat St Ishmaels (99 all out)
Umpires: John Austin & Tony Waldeis
Scorers: Peter Hughes & Wendy Bradshaw
Narberth were worthy winners against St Ishmaels as they shot out Tish for a paltry 99 runs and then eased home for the loss of only two wickets in only 33.2 overs.
Tish struggled against excellent bowling by Wayne Howells (3 for 19), Ian Hughes (3 for 12), Ben Quartermaine (3 for 24) and 1 for 13 from promising young pace man Sean Coaker as Tish skipper Andrew Palmer tried to hold his team together with 44 (two fours and three sixes), but only Peter Bradshaw (12), Dan Howells (11) and Dan Richards (11) managed double figures.
Narberth lost Marc Hughes and Jordan Howell early on to Dean John (1 for 13) and Andrew Pawlett (1 for 26) but Ritchie Adams continued his fine form this campaign with a typically hard-hitting 61 not out that contained 11 boundaries. Mike Scale gave great support with 17 not out and Narberth were worthy winners in 33.2 overs to draw level with Tish in fifth place in the table.

Tense finish in cracking local derby draw
Carew (230 for 9) drew with Cresselly (238 for 9)
Umpires: Dave Brandon & Les Hastings
Scorers: Dave Richards
There were runs galore at Carew as Cresselly travelled just a mile down the hill to amass 238 for 9, with Phil Williams scoring a splendid century – and Carew held on at 230 for 9 after looking assured of victory at 190 for 4 with eight overs left of this cracking local derby.
Cresselly’s large total owed much to the opening pair of Matthew Morgan (43) and skipper Phil Williams as they put on 93 for the first wicket. Simon Cole and Damian Arthur also chipped in with 12 apiece but it was Williams who showed he had re-found his batting form with a beautifully-crafted innings of 108 that included 8 fours and four big sixes.
For Carew, Tom Davies (3 for 58) and Tim Hicks (3 for 61) were the chief wicket-takers.
Carew had 32 from Tom Davies as they gave chase and a superb partnership by Tim Hicks (three fours and five sixes in his 77) and James Hinchliffe (three sixes in his 40) took the home side to 190 before both batsmen fell in the same over and at 192 for 6 Cresselly were back in contention through the bowling of Sam Harts (5 for 40) and Ryan Lewis (2 for 49).
In a tense finish, Rob Scourfield held out for the final deliveries for Carew and a draw was perhaps the fairest result after such a high-scoring and entertaining battle.
