Whitland lower Seasiders’ colours
Whitland 2nds (158 for 7) beat Saundersfoot (157 all out)
Umpire: Peter Perry
Scorers: Ann-Marie Jenkins & Adge John
After going all season without a hint of a defeat, runaway section champions Saundersfoot finished the season with something of a damp squib as Whitland Seconds battled hard to remove their unbeaten record.
Electing to bat first, Saundersfoot’s final total of 157 all out in only 29.4 overs owed much to Danny Caine’s powerful 77, which included three fours and four big sixes. James Caine (29) and Chris Hawkes (21) were the only other Seasiders in double figures against Geraint Jones (3 for 40), Geraint Phillips (3 for 37) Paul Webb (3 for 11) and Connor Bowen (1 for 26).
Jones (31) and Phillips (33) batted well for Whitland alongside Wayne Jones (20) and Paul Oeppen (17).
James Caine claimed 3 for 48 but brother Danny sustained an injury after taking 1 for 9 in his two overs, with veteran Chris Parker (2 for 24) and Hawkes (1 for 7) as the other successful Saundersfoot bowlers before Paul Webb staked a claim for the man of the match tag with a late 27 not out to take Whitland to victory in 51.5 overs.

Pembroke’s victory in vain
Pembroke (99 for 2) beat Johnston (96 all out)
Umpire: Steve Blowes
Scorer: Delyth Summons (Johnston)
After being asked to bat first, Johnston were soon in trouble against Rob Weston (5 for 45), Jonathan Rogers (3 for 25) and Jack Harries (1 for 17) as wickets fell regularly. Steve Mills (16), Lee Summons (13), Gary James (23) and Paul Hood (15) all got started but then got out so that Johnston could only muster 96 all out.
Pembroke started well via Weston (25) and Barry Evans (13) before both fell to the pace of Hood in a good 12-over spell which gave him figures of 2 for 37. Phil Hay continued his good recent form with 36 not out and Paul White supported with 18 not out so that Pembroke strolled home in an early finish – only for their agonising wait to reveal that they had agonisingly missed out by a whisker for the second promotion spot!

Town win quick-fire battle
Carew 2nds (134 all out) lost to Haverfordwest 2nds 135 for 5
Umpire: Mervyn John
Matthew Phillips (21), Lewis Hicks (31), Luke Hicks (15) and Dafydd Bevan (17) were the main contributors to Carew’s tally as Josh Wilment (3 for 31) and Chris Phillips (3 for 25) bowled well for The Town in cahoots with James Morris (2 for 39) and Will King (2 for 34).
Nitin Mathias led the visitors reply with a classy 41 and an unbroken sixth wicket stand of 65 between Jamie Jenkins (36 not out) and King (37 not out) saw them over the line as Johnny Harries (3 for 19), Joel Read (1 for 12) and Dominic Hicks (1 for 24) claimed the wickets for Carew.

Harris helps Cresselly Seconds win with ease
Cresselly 2nds (212 all out) beat Burton (119 all out)
Umpire: Richard Merriman
Scorers: Des Brace (Burton)
A superb century from Andrew Harris was the feature of Cresselly Seconds’ performance as they comfortably accounted for Burton to deservedly take the runners-up spot in division two.
Harris was finally caught havingscored a boundary-laden 105, assisted by cameos from Neale Williams (21), Ryan Lewis (21) and Lyn Richards (18 not out) as Cresselly ended their 45 overs on 212 all out.
Burton made a solid start and at one stage were 80 for 1 as Neville Davies (20) and Morgan Scale (66) looked in fine fettle. But then ‘spin-twin’ brothers Ryan and Matthew Lewis wrought such havoc that they were shot out for 119 as Ryan claimed 5 for 31 and skipper Matthew rounded off an excellent season at the helm with 4 for 32.
Tom Arthur picked up 1 for 28 and only one other Burton batsman managed double figures as Cresselly were worthy winners by 93 runs.
Morgan Scale - big hitting in vain for Burton against Cresselly 2nds
Stackpole win basement battle
Stackpole (144 for 7) beat Lamphey (140 all out)
Umpire: Rob Elliott
Scorers: Claire Cox & Helen Hodges
Hywel Gibbs (44) and Haydn Cole (38) were the leading batsmen for Lamphey against Chris Gibbs (2 for 39), Darrell Willington (2 for 35) and skipper Richard MacKay, whose recent excellent bowling form culminated in a 5 for 30 haul.
Lamphey’s Hywel Gibbs has also played really well all season and he staked his claim for the man of the match with an impressive 4 for 21 spell but Josh Davies hit 65 for Stackpole alongside 34 from John Williams, which helped make sure that Stackpole eased through by three wickets.
