Former St Ishmaels player Andrew Salter helped Glamorgan County Cricket Club to a first Lord’s final since 2000 last Saturday as the Dragons beat Hampshire in the YB40 semi final at the Ageas Bowl.
Glamorgan scored 234-4 in their 40 overs, as Jim Allenby starred with 74 not out.
Hampshire fell short on 203-8 in their reply, with Salter taking 0-33 in his six-over spell.
The youngster will now be expected to keep his place for the final in Lords on September 21st, with a very experienced Nottinghamshire side as the Dragons’ opponents.
Salter, 20, made headlines last month when he took a wicket with his very first ball in the County Championship, and he will be hoping to be able to build on this success at Lord’s, with large numbers of cricket lovers from Pembrokeshire hoping to travel to London to cheer Andrew on.
