Hook (147 all out) lost to Llangwm (150 all out)

Umpires: Denis Chiffi & John Austin
Scorers: Joy James and Sam Rossiter

Llangwm grabbed two wickets in the closing stages to give them a narrow win at neighbours Hook, despite having nine players unable to take part.

New captain Joe Kiff marked his first match at the helm with a good all round performance, starting with 31 runs alongside Will Beresford (23), Alistair Platten (24) and Chris Thomas (40) as Llangwm reached 150 all out despite useful bowling by Jamie Phelps (4 for 31), Tom Blaxland (3 for 14) and Matthew Holder (2 for 37).

Steady knocks from Jake Wicks (39), Phelps (17), Blaxland (29), Will Goronwy (15) and Matthew Rowlands kept Hook hopes alive against Alistair Platten (2 for 47), Joe Kiff (4 for49) Phil Llewellyn (1 for 22) and James Venables (3 for 27) who finished strongly to help Llangwm to a nerve-jangling win.

Llechryd (47 all out) lost to Cresselly 2nds (48 for 0)

Umpires: Allan Hansen & Rob Bellerby
Scorer: Des Brace (Cresselly)

Cresselly were far too strong for Llechryd and eased home for a ten-wicket success that was no more than they deserved.

Llechryd were put in to bat and crawled to 47 all out in the 39th over against miserly bowling by Matthew Lewis (4 for 15, Tom Murphy (4 for 7), Tom Arthur (1 for 9) and Harry Thomas (1 for 11) as ‘Mr Extras’ (1) top scored for the homesters.

Harry Thomas (18 not out) was then joined by Rhydian Rees (28 not out) as Cresselly hit off the runs in the 20th over of a one-sided match.

Burton (116 for 1) beat Whitland 2nds (115 for 8)

Umpire: Tony Scourfield
Scorers: Dennis Venables and Anne-Marie Jenkins

Burton took just 20 overs to reach their target against a Whitland 2nds side which never came to terms in the batting stakes and could only limp to 115 for 8 thanks to Wayne Jones (45), Paul Webb (14), Leighton O’Connor (12) and Geraint Phillips (11).

Jack Davies (2 for 21), Prathan Pulwalsa (2 for 37), James Davies (1 for 34) and Steve Jones (1 for 1) were the successful Burton bowlers and although they lost Richard Jones for 12, Toby Haman batted steadily for his undefeated 31 and Rob Griffiths was in typically powerful mode with five fours and two sixes in his 54 not out.

Haverfordwest 2nds (102 all out) lost to Pembroke (104 for 6)

Umpires: Peter Perry & Rob Elliott           Division Two Round-Up 3rd May 2014
Scorers: Ros Phillips & Natalie Thomas

Haverfordwest 2nds were left to regret gifting some of their overs to Pembroke as the visitors finally reached their lowly target having used 2.3 overs over their allotted 45 overs.

Adam Raymond (20), Chris Phillips (14) and last man George Thomas (12) were the top scorers for The Town against Jonathan Rogers (3 for 39), Lewis Wilkes (3 for 35), Jack Harries (2 for 10) and Sean Powell (1 for 15).

Pembroke also lost wickets early on and looked a little shaky at 70 for 6 but Rogers, who had helped Tenby win local rugby’s cup final the previous night, slammed 29 not out to ease his team through in conjunction with Paul White (31) and Andrew Hay (13) as Nigel Morgan 91 for 14), Chris Phillips (2 for 25), Avron Roulstone (2 for 9) and Sean Jenkins (1 for 24) were the successful Town bowlers.

Johnston (220 all out) beat Carew 2nds (83 all out)

Umpires: Mervyn John & Glyn Pawlett

Johnston earned the biggest victory in the section as they smashed 220 all out and then bowled Carew out for only 83 runs.

Dan Sutton struck an excellent 82 (eight fours and four sixes) and was joined by Lee Summons (three sixes and nine fours in his equally powerful 70) as they shared a stand of 140 runs. Steve Mills also chipped in with 33 as 13 year old Iorrie Hicks bowled really for his 5 for 33, as Dominic, Luke and Lewis Hicks were joined by Haydn Shapcott in taking a wicket apiece.

Luke Hicks (14), Dai Rees (23) and Dafydd Bevan (18) were the pick of the Carew batsmen but they found it hard going against Steve Jenkins (3 for 19), Steve Mills (1 for 280, Rhys Dalling (2 for 8), Gary James (2 for 6) and Chris Fitzpatrick (1 for 16)
