Geraint Morris made a useful contribution with the bat for Llanrhian
Carew (167 for 7) beat Llanrhian (166 for 6)
Umpires: Les Hastings & Ian PhillipsScorer: Julie Davies (Carew)
For the second week in succession newcomers Llanrhian lost in the final over as Carew grittily chased down their useful score with just two balls remaining.
The platform for Llanrhian’s 166 for6 was laid down in a second-wicket partnership of 116 between Paul Lewis (67) and Geraint Morris (54) as Rob Scourfield led his side by example with a 4 for 37 haul, supported by Sean Whitfield (1 for 19).
Rhys Davies (28), Tom Davies (35), Tom Scourfield (21) and especially James Hinchliffe (45 not out) batted well to leave Carew needing seven runs off the last over and young Sean Whitfield did the job with a 3 and two 2s to get the home season off to a winning start, whilst Llanrhian still have to learn how to win from relatively good positions!
Cresselly (137 all out) lost to Neyland (138 for 3)
Umpires: Trefor Evans & Huw DaviesScorers: Dave Richards & John Laugharne
League champs Neyland maintained their excellent start to the season with a good win at Cresselly, and again it was skipper Gregg Miller’s undefeated innings which carried them home with over an over to spare.
Matthew Morgan’s 52 (six fours and two sixes) helped Cresselly to 137 all out, assisted by Neilson Cole (22), Mike Shaw (29) and Lyn Richards (13) as Nick Koomen bowled really well in his 4 for 22 analysis alongside Andrew Miller (2 for 28) and Nathan Banner (2 for 22).
Then Gregg Miller anchored the innings with his 59 not out (five fours and a six) and Kooman earned the man of the match tag for his 56 (six fours) in a stand of 83 with his captain.

St Ishmaels (48 for 2) beat Saundersfoot (47 all out)
Umpires: John Williams & Tony WaldeisScorers: Wendy Bradshaw & Adge John
The shortest game of the first division so far undoubtedly came at St Ishmaels as the home team shot out ten-man Saundersfoot for a paltry 47 and won by eight wickets in 17.3 overs.
Simon Stanford scored 18 runs for the Seasiders as the only batsman in double figures against Andrew Williams (2 for 19), Andrew Pawlett (4 for 2) and teenager Jordan Milich (3 for 3). Then Tish strolled home as they lost openers Peter Bradshaw (13) and Dan Howells (10) but Brennan Devonald took them home on 13 not out with Andrew Williams unbeaten at the other end.
Lawrenny (102 all out) lost to Haverfordwest (104 for 2)
Umpires: Richard Merriman & Dai MorrisScorers: Malcolm Thomas & Jayne Cole
Lawrenny looked a trifle ring-rusty in their first match of the season as only Steve Lewis batted well and Haverfordwest reached their less than challenging target in 22 overs.
Lewis struck five fours and three sixes in his top score of 56 and only Johnny Mathias (11) managed double figures against Adam Davies (4 for 22), Josh Wilment (2 for 16) and Dai Davies (2 for 5).
The result was never in doubt after tea once The Town openers Simon
Holliday and Ben Field got going in a stand of 78, with Field contributing 36 before being caught by Rob Williams off Brad McDermott-Jenkins, and Holliday finishing on 48 not out (seven fours and a six).
Ben Field made a stand of 78 with Town team-mate Simon Holiday
Whitland (184 for 9) beat Narberth (151 all out)
Umpires: Dave Brandon & Rob CouzensScorers: Janice Webb & Peter Hughes
A splendid undefeated century by Paul Davies helped Whitland gain their first win of the season in their local derby against Narberth.
His 100 not out was all the more praiseworthy because his side stood at 38 for 6 at one stage but he found a willing partner in Iestyn Scourfield (33) as he stroked 14 fours and reached three figures in the final over as they reached a commanding 184 for 9.
Narberth’s most successful bowlers were Kyle Quartermaine (3 for 60) and Jordan Howell (3 for 41) and after tea they had useful knocks from Ritchie Adams (19) Sam Mills (26), Marc Hughes (26) and Ben Quartermaine (18) as they also accumulated 30 extras but had no one to take command, as Davies had done for the opposition.
Iestyn Scourfield also spearheaded the Whitland attack with 4 for 31 as useful bowling by Mark Lee (3 for 42), David Dunfee (2 for 22) and Dan James (1 for 38) helped Whitland win by 33 runs.
