Summons was joined by Liam Boswell (30) and Dan Sutton (22) in taking their side to a healthy 148 for 9 against Johnny Scale (4 for 44) Dan Ridge (2 for 28), James Davies (1 for 16) and Prasan Pulsarker (1 for 34).
Toby Hayman led the Burton response with an excellent 61, the talented teenager stroking nine fours and a six against Lee Summons and Simon Williams (2 for 21) but only Phil Sutton (18) and Rob Griffiths (22) stayed with him as Burton were forced to settle for a draw.
Johnston's Leigh Walters opened the batting with Sutton at Glebelands
Sefton steers Carew home
Carew 2nds (171 for 9) beat Haverfordwest 2nds (111 all out)
Rob Cousins & Mervyn JohnScorer: Ros Phillips and Natalie Thomas (both Haverfordwest)
An excellent innings of 76 by Ian Sefton (including seven fours and three sixes) helped Carew 2nds to a big score against their counterparts from Haverfordwest and then accurate bowling by all their bowlers help them to a comfortable 60-run win.
Sefton shared an opening stand of 99 with Lewis Hicks, who fell one run short of what would have been a deserved half century against the bowling of James Morris (2 for 47), Kieran O’Connor (2 for 18), Nigel Morgan (2 for 21), Chris Phillips (2 for 47) and Kasif Ijaz (2 for 30).
David Haynes (24), Sean Williams (19) and O’Connor 19) were the top batsmen for The Town but they were never able to maintain momentum against Tom Davies (3 for 24), Dominic Hicks (1 for 21), Luke Hicks (2 for 41) and Sean Whitfield (3 for 8).
Hook earn comfortable win
Cresselly 2nds (85 all out) lost to Hook (86 for 3
Umpires: Robert Ridge & Dai MorrisHook gained their first victory of the season as they travelled to play Cresselly 2nds and were on top from the outset as they shot out the home side for only 85 and then reached their target with plenty of overs and time in hand.
Only Rhydian Rees (40) and Scott Arthur (16) ever looked comfortable for Cresselly as Brad 'super-charged' Flood grabbed 6 for 36 and the rest of the Hook bowlers gave good support.
Then old-timer Keith James, back in the first team with a typical 37 joined Tom Blaxland (31) in seeing Hook home, despite useful bowling from Harry Thomas (2 for 19).
Borderers crawl to a tame draw
Llangwm (141 for 8) drew with Whitland 2nds (65 for 3)
Umpires: Les Hastings & Glyn PawlettScorers: Janice Brick & Anne-Marie Jenkins
Llangwm scored a useful 141 for 8 against Whitland 2nds at Pill Parks in a match reduced to 30 overs per side because of the weather but Whitland were never able to get going against tight home bowling and fielding and could manage only 63 runs in their allotted overs.
Luke Brock (24), Joe Kiff (32), Ollie Davies (30 not out) and Chris Inward (16) were the main run-getters for Llangwm against good bowling by the father and son pair of Paul and Matthew Webb, who claimed 2 for 24 and 3 for 34 respectively alongside Stuart Harries (2 for 21)
Webb junior also top scored for Whitland on 23 not out alongside Wayne Jones (18) as Phil Llewellyn (2 for 12) Ollie Davies (2 for 17) and Chris Inward (1 for 9) were the home wicket-takers.
