Cresselly 2nds cruised to victory at Oatfield Park as they restricted Burton to123 for 8 in their allotted 45 overs before strolling to a nine-wicket in only 26 overs.
James Scale (32), Jack Davies (20) and James Davies (16 not out) were the only Burton batters to look comfortable against Harry Thomas (3 for 26), Sam Harts (2 for 34), Matthew Lewis (2 for 22) and Steve Lewis (1 for 35).
Cresselly lost Scott Arthur for 12 to Johnny Scale (1 for 25) but with Harry Thomas completing another excellent all-round performance with 39 not out they had a powerful innings of 55 not out from Iwan Izzard (seven singles and 12 fours) in an unbroken three-figure stand as they finished nice and early!
Big partnership takes Johnston to victory
Haverfordwest 2nds (188 for 8) lost to Johnston (191 for 3)
Umpires: Denis Chiffi & Huw DaviesScorers: Natalie Thomas & Delyth Summons
A superb stand of 138 by Steve Mills and Lee Summons saw Johnston to a comfortable win in a high-scoring match against Haverfordwest at The Racecourse.
Nigel Morgan (52, including six fours) and Richard Scriven (33) got The Town off to a good start as they put on 79 in quick time before Kashif Ijaz (six fours and a six in a powerful 35), Josh Hicks (25) and Chris Phillips (18) helped take them to 188 for 8, perhaps a few less than they had hoped for as they stood at 154 for 3.
But The Town were soon chasing leather as Mills lashed 12 boundaries in his 83 whilst Summons looked a class batsman as he also stroked 12 fours in his undefeated 80.
James Morris and Kashif Ijaz were the only Haverfordwest wicket-takers as Johnston romped home with overs and wickets aplenty to spare.
Hook win low-scoring tussle
Hook (76 for 5) beat Carew 2nds (75 all out)
Umpires: Trefor Evans & Steve BlowesHook enjoyed a five-wicket win over Carew Seconds as they bowled out the opposition for 76 and although they lost a few wickets late on were good value for victory.
Haydn Shapcott was easily the principal run-gatherer for Carew after they had been asked to bat first as he scored 40 runs; only old-timer Aled Davies managing double figures against Wayne Griffiths (5 for 8), Brennan Martin (1 for 16) and Jamie Phelps (1 for 1).
Brennan Lay anchored the home team’s reply with 32 runs and Tom Blaxland also chipped in with 12 as Ceri Brace marked his return to Carew with 3 for 13 alongside Luke and Lewis Hicks, who had a wicket apiece.
Whitland hold on in a nervy finish
Whitland 2nds (131 for 9) drew with Pembroke (151 all out)
Umpires: Peter Perry & Robert RidgeScorers: Ann-Marie Jenkins
Whitland Seconds and Pembroke battled all the way before the game ended in a draw with Whitland 21 runs short of victory and Pembroke desperately seeking that vital final wicket.
Pembroke batsman had steady starts but got out at key times so that Paul White (30), Phil Hay (21), Jack Harries (23) and Barry Evans (18) top scored in their steady 151 all out.
Old timer Stuart Harries (4 for 23) Geraint Phillips (3 for 36), Paul Webb (2 for 39)
and Leighton O’Connor (1 for 12) were the wicket takers for Whitland.
It was a similar story when Whitland batted as Matthew Webb (25) and dad Paul (23) were supported by 15 apiece from Dai Lee and Jack Bowen, plus 13 each from Paul Oeppen and O’Connor, but with no one able to really get on top of Jonathan Rogers (2 for 18), Rob Weston (2 for 32), Sean Powell (3 for 30) and Jack Harries (2 for 22).
