Cresselly became the first team in indoor cricket to play three matches in one afternoon as they took on Neyland ‘B’, Neyland ‘A’ and Haverfordwest ‘B’ – and lost the lot.

Game One:

Cresselly v Neyland ‘B’

Cresselly lose three in a row!
Cresselly are a keen bunch but had only five players and  have yet to master the vagaries of the indoor game but at least Harry Thomas enjoyed the match against Neyland ‘B’ as he scored 95 not out in a total of 107 after his four team mates could only muster four runs between them and left talented teenager Thomas to bat most of the innings on his own!

Harry belted 11 sixes and a four but there was little running between the wickets and a final tally of 107 for 4 might have been considerably more if they had.

Paul Murray made a welcome return for Neyland B and he joined fellow opener Scott Jones in reaching 27 before they had to retire, with Luke Ryan and Jason Oatley also reaching the 25 mark that brings retirement as Neyland ‘B’ claimed victory in their final over without conceding a single wicket.

Game Two:

Cresselly v Neyland ‘A’

Cresselly lose three in a row!Cresselly’s batting in this match against Neyland ‘A’ was even slower as they utilised their ten overs in reaching just 57 for 3 wickets, with Matthew Palmer top scoring on 19 not out after Harry Thomas had been well caught by Gregg Miller via a shot that hit the roof and ricocheted back to the ever-alert Miller.

Tom Arthur was the only other Cresselly batsman to manage double figures against miserly two-over stints from Patrick Bellerby, Miller and Nathan Banner.

There were early shocks when Neyland ‘A’ batted as they lost Miller for a duck and Nick Koomen for 2 runs but Bellerby retired on 27 and le3ft it to skipper Sean Hannon and Banner to see the Welsh champs home in only five overs.

Game Three:

Cresselly v Haverfordwest ‘B’

Cresselly lose three in a row!
With both teams having just five men it was Haverfordwest ‘B’ who claimed the victory after restricting Cresselly to 64 for 3 and then losing only one wicket in reaching their target.

Mark Stobbs and Avron Roulstone were the key Town bowlers, with keeper Stobbs having to turn his arm over and claim the wickets of the Palmer brothers, both caught by stand-in keeper Filgi Varghese, whilst Roulstone’s pace was too much for the opposition as he bowled a rare maiden over and only conceded one run in the other!

Harry Thomas scored 16 and Tom Arthur batted well for his undefeated 32 but again the Cresselly innings continued at a slow pace for indoor cricket.
Roulstone (18) and Sean Williams, who retired on 25, gave The Town innings early impetus and Stobbs saw them home at a canter!
