Finn gets his hat-trick recognised
Someone who is away from our country at the moment are Wendy and Chris Bradshaw, who play such important roles in cricket at St Ishmaels and in running the indoor league with Allan Hansen.
They are away from the cold and damp in Australia, visiting daughter Sarah and her feller Brendan Moon, who played for Tish when he was over here.
Wendy still keeps a weather eye on the indoor stuff via our web-site reports and the Bradshaws were delighted to learn that Neyland had a good win in the regional match at Cheltenham.
They have also found time, as well as doing lots of sun bathing and bird watching, to see England get slammed by the Aussies in the World Cup 50-over match.
Pembrokeshire support in vain
“We did our best to support England but the Australians were too good for us on and off the field,” admitted Wendy, “so you can imagine the barracking.
“Poor Stuart Broad was constantly boo-ed. However, we did console ourselves with the hat-trick from Finn and a splendid knock from James Taylor with 98 not out. It would have been lovely to see him get his 100 as he certainly deserved it and disappointing that one of the umpires made an incorrect decision at the end, but I really don't think Finn would have lasted much longer at the crease.
“After the game we went down to the nearby beach on Sunday night and had a swim in a warm sea – and it was still great at 8:45pm when we made our way home.
“AND there were no sharks! The beach is only 5-10 minutes’ walk away, so clean and quiet.
“We have had an amazing time but are looking forward to our return to Wales, Pembrokeshire and St Ishmaels, whom we hope will put up a good show on Sunday with their three tough games in the indoor league!”
