Cresselly cruise to another big win

Lawrenny (126 all out) lost to Cresselly (290 for 5) by 164 runs

Umpires: Allan Hansen & John Austin
Scorers: Malcolm Thomas & Tegan Cartwright

Adam Chandler maintained his amazing run of runs as Cresselly made the short journey up the road to Lawrenny and returned with maximum points as they were on top from the start and won by such a massive margin.

Chandler had ten fours and two sixes as he batted throughout the innings and found excellent support from Simon ‘Snowy’ Cole (eight boundaries in his 69), Iwan Izzard (47) and Brad McDermott-Jenkins (18) against Simon ‘Chief’ Cole (2 for 28), Rob Williams (1 for 27) and Steve Lewis (2 for 59).

Tom Murphy (2 for 25) and Harry Thomas (3 for 38) proved to be excellent strike bowlers as only Ian Jenkins ever looked comfortable with 39 for Lawrenny before he was caught by Murphy off the bowling of his son, Brad McDermott-Jenkins.

Rob Williams was the only other Lawrenny batsman in double figures as McDermott-Jenkins (1 for 8) and Ryan Lewis (1 for 25) were joined by a sharp-looking Matthew Morgan (3 for 12) in taking Cresselly to an easy win over their near neighbours.

Sutton century in vain as Neyland show their batting power

Johnston (232 for 6) lost to Neyland (236 for 3) by 7 wickets

Umpires: Trefor Evans & Ian Phillips

Scorers: Delyth Summons & John Laugharne

Division One Reports 11th July 2015 - sponsored by Nicholas Insurance
Daniel Sutton scored a superb 123 against Neyland in a large Johnston tally but it proved in vain as the reigning league champs demonstrated their batting power by reaching a target of 233 for the loss of only three wickets with overs to spare.

Sutton showed he still has class aplenty as he struck 13 fours and five big sixes as he raced past three figures and was finally out from the final ball of the innings, bowled by veteran off-spinner Gary Lloyd.

Steve Mills (37), Lee Summons (18) and Ross Dewstowe (a typically swashbuckling 60 not out) were the other main run-getters for Johnston against Nick Koomen (1 for 70), Patrick Bellerby (1 for 36), Gary Lloyd (2 for 34) and Scott Jones (1 for 31).

It was a big target to chase but skipper Gregg Miller (38) and Nick Koomen (68) set out their stall so that Ashley Sutton (61) and Andrew Miller (44 not out) steered Neyland towards victory against Jack Mills (1 for 26), Summons (1 for 53) and Chris Fitzpatrick (1 for 39) as the only home wicket-takers.

Llanrhian hold up Carew charge

Llanrhian (196 for 5) drew with Carew (183 for 8)

Umpires: Steve Blowes & Tony Waldeis
Scorers: Fraser Watson & Julie Davies

Division One Reports 11th July 2015 - sponsored by Nicholas Insurance

Llanrhian produced one of their better performances of the season at Llandigige Fawr as they batted well to build a decent total and then restricted Carew, Tom and Rhys Davies apart, in the batting stakes so that the visitors held on for the draw..

Llanrhian got off to a cracking start with a first wicket stand of 108 between Ben Jones and Gareth Davies before Jones was out for 56 (nine fours) but Davies batted throughout the innings for his excellent 86 not out (nine fours and a six) and found other support from Luke Jones (20) and skipper Richard Reed (11 not out) against the bowling of Rhys Davies (3 for 36), Tom Davies (1 for 34) and Robert Scourfield (1 for 29).

Carew were unable to get off to the start they needed after tea but a fourth-wicket stand of 79 between Tom Davies and Rhys Davies got them going before skipper Rhys Davies was out for 42 (three fours and two sixes).

Tom Davies looked in really good nick and at one stage seemed likely to steer his side home but was dismissed for an excellent 94 (10 fours and two sixes) and Carew weren’t quite able to take the victory they needed against Luke Jones (4 for 31), Dom Wright (1 for 36) and Gareth Davies (2 for 39).

Holliday holds the key to The Town

Haverfordwest (155 for 3) beat St Ishmaels (151 for 8) by 7 wickets

Umpires: Rob Bellerby & Huw Davies
Scorers: Jayne Cole & Wendy Bradshaw

Division One Reports 11th July 2015 - sponsored by Nicholas InsuranceSimon Holliday maintained his run of good form with both bat and ball as his unbeaten 71 and three-wicket haul helped steer The Town to a comfortable win over St Ishmaels, extending their lead at the top of the table.

Peter Bradshaw made a welcome return to the Tish batting line-up and top scored with 71 (nine boundaries) alongside Dan Richards (32) and Johnny Pawlett (19) as Holliday returned figures of 3 for 32 after Adam James (2 for 58) and Josh Wilment (2 for 36) had made the initial break-through and Clive Tucker also claimed 1 for  20.

Holliday lost Ben Field very early on but Nitin Mathias (29), skipper Danny Potter (23) and Dai Davies 19 not out as Holliday finished undefeated on 72, including seven fours and a six. Dean John (1 for 37), Andrew Pawlett (1 for 37) and Brennan Devonald (1 for 35) were the only Tish wicket-takers but Holliday & Co reached their target in only 31.5 overs.

Llangwm hold on – but Whitland take the draw points

Whitland (273 for 6) drew with Llangwm (179 for 8)

Division One Reports 11th July 2015 - sponsored by Nicholas InsuranceUmpires: Arthur Brady & Dai Morris

Scorers: Janice Webb

Llangwm managed to hold on at Whitland but the home side pouched all the allocated points for a draw by dint of the fact that they were so far ahead from their respective 45 overs.

Kevin Pearce topped the Whitland batting with 85 (15 fours and two sixes) alongside Iestyn Scourfield (67, including nine fours and two sixes), Matthew Davies (44), Leighton O’Connor (22), Scott Newton (17) and Geraint Jones (27) as Matthew Kiff (2 for 74), Phil Llewellyn (1 for 61), Chris Thomas (2 for 58) and James Lewis (1 for 54) tried unsuccessfully to stop the run fest.

Chasing such a mammoth score was a daunting task for the basement battlers but Phil Llewellyn batted well for his 22, skipper Joseph Kiff chipped in with 23 and Matthew Kiff batted well for his 62 not out (nine fours) which ultimately staved off defeat, despite the efforts of a brilliant Greg Sleep (6 for 62) spell and Mark Lee (2 for 19) the rest of the home bowlers in trying unsuccessfully to winkle out the last two Llangwm wickets.
