Haverfordwest 2nds (64 all out) lost to Narberth (68 for 4) by six wickets

Scorers: Ros Phillips & Emma Richards

Narberth took another giant step towards a return to the top echelon as they cruised to victory against a Haverfordwest 2nds side which must have been asking itself how they allowed themselves to collapse from 40 for 1 to 64 all out.

Town skipper James Morris did try hard to give the final scoreline a more creditable scoreline as he grabbed 4 for 37 but Ritchie Adams showed his experience with a rock-solid 30 not out alongside 15 from Jordan Howell.

It was Howell who caused the chaos with the ball after Dan Cole (25) and Charlie Clinton (17) batted well; his switch from pace to leg-spin earning him figures of 6 for 21 as The Town batsmen queued up to get out against him, Ben Hughes (3 for 9) and Lewis Hough (1 for 11).

Narberth team manager Gary Hughes might have not been happy losing four wickets in chasing down such a modest total but his side are ploughing a path back to division one and at the moment the only debate seems to not if, but when, they confirm their promotion.

Kilgetty hold on for the draw

Kilgetty (163 for 8) drew with Cresselly 2nds (223 for 8)

Umpires: Allan Hansen & Tony Scourfield
Scorers: Hazel Poole & Des Brace

Kilgetty and Cresselly Seconds both played well at Kingsmoor before a hard-fought draw was the final verdict, with the visitors gaining the majority of the points on offer.

Cresselly always looked on target for a big score after a solid start by Phil Williams (23) and Harry Thomas (four fours and two sixes in his 61) before Alex Bayley smote six boundaries in his 58 alongside Matthew Webb (27) and skipper Richard Harris (13).

Ross Hardy (2 for 49), Toby Poole (2 for 55) and Grant Hardy (2 for 33) were the Kilgetty wicket-takers before they set out in pursuit of a sizeable total for victory.

They needed a big score from one of their major batsmen but never quite got that, although Kurtis Marsh (41), Ross Hardy (31), Tom Lewis (17), Geoff Marsh (43) and Grant Hardy (19) all batted well to secure the draw, despite the Cresselly bowling of Lyn Richards (2 for 28), Harry Thomas (3 for 32), Matthew Lewis (2 for 51) and Richard Harris (2 for 19).

Whitland Seconds gained a vital victory against Burton that eased the pressure on them in the lower half of the section, whilst drawing the youthful opposition further into the relegation mire.

Wayne Jones (26), Paul Oeppen (25 not out), Raff Williams (18), Nathan Evans (20) and Dai Lee (17) all made useful contributions for Whitland as Toby Hayman speared Burton’s bowling attack with excellent figures of 6 for 39, ably assisted by Morgan Scale (1 for 28) and Jack Davies (1 for 13).

Toby Hayman (27), Jack Davies (24) and George Williams (21) led the Burton batting but these talented teenagers’ efforts weren’t enough against Connor Bowen (3 for 21), Paul Webb (3 for 27) and Raff Williams (3 for 25) as Whitland deservedly claimed victory.

Seasiders snatch verdict in run-fest at Hook

Hook (216 for 6) lost to Saundersfoot (218 for 6) by four wickets

Umpires: Huw Davies & Neil Croucher
Scorers: Phil Griffiths & Adge John

There were runs galore at Hook as the home side batted first and reached 214 for 6 before Saundersfoot gave chase to such good effect that they reached what seemed like their tough target in only 36.4 overs.

Tom Blaxland was in fine fettle for Hook with a boundary-laden 82 before he was adjudged lbw, assisted by Jamie Phelps (39), Craig Nutty (24) and Jake Wicks (a hard-hitting 62 not out) – with Neil Powling (2 for 34) and John Mansbridge (2 for 25) the most successful Saundersfoot.

The Seasiders’ reply was dominated by Simon Stanford, who hit 11 fours and five big sixes before he was eventually bowled by Jamie Phelps, with good support from the experienced trio of James Caine (45), Paul Mansbridge (19) and Phil Jones (22).

Wicks completed a terrific individual performance with 4 for 53 but Saundersfoot were always in control and ended up as worthy winners.

Pembroke power to win as Weston shines

Pembroke (230 for 5) beat Camrose (126 all out) by 104 runsDivision Two Match Reports18th July 2015 - sponsored by Nicholas Insurance

Umpires: John Austin & Robert Ridge

Rob Weston was again the star performer for Pembroke as his runs and wickets helped his side comfortably overcome relegation-haunted Camrose at Treleet.

Weston topped the batting honours for the home side with a hard-hitting 65 alongside Barry Evans (17), Paul White (33), Jack Harries (24), Phil Hay (22) and Jon Rogers (22 not out) whilst Andrew Thomas (3 for 35), Jon Venables (3 for 61) and Robin Ellis (2 for 56) were successful Cam bowlers.

There were no real batting heroes for the visitors after tea, however, as only Venables (23) and Danny Morgan (21) really troubled the scorers against Rogers (3 for 29), Billy Wood (2 for 34) and Weston, who wrapped things up in a 3 for 11 spell.
