Kyle Quartermaine - struck 67 runs for league leaders Narberth at Camrose

Quartermaines to the fore for league leaders

Camrose (131 all out) lost to Narberth (209 for 8) by 78 runs

Umpires: Richard Merriman & Rob Elliott
Scorer: Emma Richards (Narberth)

Brothers Ben and Kyle Quartermaine were certainly to the fore against Camrose as Kyle smashed another top score for the runaway section leaders and skipper Ben featured well with both bat and ball.

Kyle had ten fours and a big six in his innings of 67, with other useful scores from Ben (42), Jordan Howell (25), Ritchie Adams (19) and Ben Hughes (19) helping them to a big score, despite the bowling efforts of Robin Ellis (2 for 37), Matthew Davies (3 for 60) and Phil Tough (3 for 14).

Then Ben Quartermaine (4 for 25) and Jordan Howell (6 for 35) caused chaos in the Cam batting line up to such an extent that only Dan Wilks (44), Matthew Davies (35) and Jon Venables (19) managed double figures, leaving the home side still at the foot of the table and Narberth having extended their lead at the top to 76 points with only four games left!

Paul Webb scored 17 runs for Whitland in their defeat at Burton
An excellent all-round performance from Whitland’s veteran all-rounder Paul Webb helped his side move a little further out of the relegation zone with a relatively comfortable win over their counterparts from Haverfordwest.

Webb used his canny slow stuff to good effect in claiming 5 for 34, supported by Geraint Phillips (2 for 41), Connor Bowen (2 for 29) and Raff Williams (1 for 16) – and The Town reserves managed 121 all out, with their top scorers being Avron Roulstone (35), Dan Cole (29) and Dan Field 17 as they lasted only 32.1 overs.

Roulstone (2 for 26), Kieran O’Connor (1 for 37) and Owen Jones (1 for 8) took wickets in Whitland’s reply as Webb used his wealth of experience to drop anchor, scoring 42 not out in 134 deliveries, assisted by other ‘old timers’ in Wayne Jones (26) and Dai Lee (17).

Weston stars again for Treleet Boys

Cresselly 2nds (156 for 6) lost to Pembroke (158 for 4) by 6 wickets

Umpires: Neil Croucher & Dai Morris
Scorer: Des BraceRob Weston - big runs and wickets again for Pembroke

Rob Weston continued his excellent form for Pembroke as his all-round exploits helped the Treleet Boys beat second-placed Cresselly Seconds and move into the top four in the table.

Jim Kinnear (52 not out) led Cresselly’s batting line up, with supporting roles from Matthew Webb (27), Richard Harris (14) and Luke Cole (28 not out) as they finished on 156 for 6, after useful spells by Weston (3 for 14 in 12 overs), Andrew Hay (2 for 23) and Jack Harries (1 for 42).

Cresselly skipper Harris bowled his 12 overs, with six maidens, in claiming 2 for 10 alongside Ollie Richards (1 for 21) but after Barry Evans (15), Jack Harries (23) and Phil Hay (26) had ensured a solid start for Pembroke it was Andrew Hay (18 not out) who also completed a useful all-round performance as he joined the big-hitting Weston (six fours and three big sixes) in steering Pembroke to victory with overs and wickets aplenty left in hand.

Tom takes charge at Oatfield Park

Burton (137 all out) lost to Hook (190 all out) by 53 runs

Umpires: Mervyn John & Glyn Pawlett
Scorer: Dennis Venables

Division Two Match Reports 25th July 2015 - sponsored by Nicholas InsuranceAn excellent innings of 110 by Tom Blaxland was the keynote feature of Hook’s comfortable win over neighbours Burton, who still find themselves in the bottom two in the table as the result of this set-back.

Blaxland’s boundary-laden innings took Hook to a very useful tally of 190 at Oatfield Park, despite useful spells by Jack Davies (4 for 19) and skipper Morgan Scale (4 for 47) in the Burton bowling attack.

Toby Hayman (40) and Phil Sutton (27) led the Burton response but wickets fell regularly against Brennan Martin (4 for 43) and Andrew Thomas (3 for 45) and Hook were good value for an important win in the ‘danger zone’ of the division that puts them 28 points ahead of their neighbours in the table.

Umpires abandon local derby

Saundersfoot (122 for 4) v Kilgetty (257 for 8) – Match abandoned

Umpires: Rob Cousins & Martin Jones
Scorers: Adge John & Hazel Poole
Division Two Match Reports 25th July 2015 - sponsored by Nicholas Insurance
The match between Saundersfoot and nearest rivals Kilgetty was brought to an early conclusion as an on-field altercation caused the umpires to abandon the match, a decision which will now be referred to the executive committee of the Pembroke County Cricket Club.

Kilgetty had batted first and their innings featured another excellent innings of 116 by Ross Hardy, including 10 fours and eight sixes, alongside cameos from Peter Hall (33), Jake Marsh (24) and Kyle Marsh (21) against Sam Franklyn (6 for 63), Jonathan Mansbridge (1 for 55) and Neil Powling (1 for 38).

Kilgetty responded with 122 for 4 wickets thanks to Steve Cook (24), Franklyn (58, with eight fours and a six), James Caine (11) and Phil Jones (10 not out) – but then the match was abandoned and sadly fine performances by Ross Hardy and Sam Franklyn might get forgotten in the unsatisfactory conclusion to play.
