Current Pembrokeshire champions Haverfordwest and previous Welsh winners and Lords’ finalists Neyland served notice of intent in the first week of the Indoor Cricket League as both recorded comfortable victories to start their season in style.
Game One - Neyland (45 for 3) beat Haverfordwest B (41 all out)
prominent with the bat – although they did win comfortable enough in the final analysis.Haverfordwest made a bad start as Nitin Mathias ran out younger brother Nikhil for a duck but then batted quite well alongside Kieran O’Connor until both were run out respectively for 20 and 11.
From there it was downhill all the way for The Town B side and they were shot out for 41 eight overs, with Patrick Hannon picking up 2 for 9 in his two overs.
Neyland lost key batsman Nick Koomen for only three runs and then O’Connor caused a bit of a stir with a double-wicket maiden as he shifted Nathan Banner for eight runs and had Henry Durrant well caught by teenage wicket-keeper Jack Scriven for a duck.
O’Connor only conceded three runs from his second over of spin but Patrick Bellerby (19 not out) and Patrick Hannon (12 not out) took the score from a shaky 21 for 3 to 45 for 3 as Bellerby rasped a boundary to finish in style with 3.4 overs still in hand.

When The Dock gave chase they were soon deep in trouble as Jake Merry claimed a match-winning 3 for 12 and at one stage stood on a hat-trick but bowled a wide!
Only Luke Murray (12) and Phil Scott (15) managed double figures in support of ‘Mr Extras’ and the Dock were still 80 runs adrift when they had used up their ten overs!

But then Ben Field and Nigel Delaney retired before returning at the finish to get themselves run out in pursuit of runs and although Sean Williams failed to trouble the scorers a vital late 35 from last man Huw Scriven (including two sixes) saw The Town end up with a very challenging 141 all out.
Craig Butland batted well for The Dock as he retired on 25 and returned later to end up with a creditable 37 not out but only Connor Beynon (12 not out) managed double figures alongside him as Holliday, Field and Potter were the Haverfordwest wicket-takers and The Dock had to settle for 73 for 4 in a far more positive performance.
