Llangwm maintained their excellent start to the season with an easy win over neighbours Hook which maintained their 100% start and puts them top of the table.
Llangwm’s huge score of 264 for 8 was built around an excellent innings of 92 by James Venables, including 13 fours and a six, assisted by Huw Brock (30), Joseph Kiff (26), Iwan Griffiths (28), Phil Llewellyn (26 not out) and Chris Inward (36 not out), whilst Brennan Martin (2 for 48), Andrew Thomas (2 for 44) and Callum James (2 for 28) were the pick of the Hook attack.
Inward then led the Llangwm bowling with such conviction that he grabbed 5 for 31, supported by Andrew Harries (3 for 45), Matthew Kiff (1 for 27) and Phil Llewellyn (1 for 23) as Jamie Phelps (28), Jacob Lay (27) and Brennan Martin (21) were the major contributors for Hook but no-one was able to produce an innings of similar quality to James Venables.
Carew 2nds (177 for 0) beat Cresselly 2nds (176 for 6) by 10 wickets

Scott Arthur top scored with 67 for Cresselly, assisted by Geraint Davies (32) and Richard Harries (35 not out) as Max Brindley (3 for 55) was the pick of the home bowlers as Rob Scourfield, Joel Read and Iori Hicks claimed a wicket apiece.
But Cresselly’s bowling lacked penetration as Bevan struck a boundary-laden 82 not out and Hinchliffe stroked 77 not out, the pair batting so speedily that they reached their sizeable target in only 23.4 overs!

Haverfordwest 2nds (120 all out) lost to Burton (121 for 9) by 1 wicke

There was high drama at The Racecourse as Haverfordwest Seconds looked almost certain winners against Burton when the visitors were reeling at 95 for 9 in response to The Town’s less than large total of 121 all out.
But then old-timer Johnny Scale joined Will Bowen and they shared an unbroken stand of 26 that took them to victory!
Max Rodrigues (29), Nigel Morgan (27) and Jack Scriven (15) were the only home batsmen in double figures against Gareth Williams (2 for 37), Jack Davies (2 for 33), Morgan Scale (4 for 22) and Johnny Scale (2 for 28).
Morgan Scale also chipped in with 21 after tea alongside Richard Jones (12) and James Davies (14) as Morgan (4 for 26), Sean Williams (1 for 24), Archie Thomas (1 for 25) and Kieran O’Connor (3 for 32) seemed to have bowled their side into a strong position.
But then Johnny Scale used his experience to good effect with a stoic 2 not out – and Bowen’s excellent undefeated 33 saw Burton home!

Pembroke (199 all out) beat Kilgetty (155 all out) by 44 runs

Pembroke gained a 44-run victory over Kilgetty in an entertaining tussle at Treleet that had effervescent skipper Paul ’Chalkie’ White bubbling about his team’s all-round display.
White certainly played a part with the bat as he scored 51 runs (five boundaries) alongside talented youngster Jack Harries, who stroked nine fours in his excellent 71. Billy Wood also chipped in with 26 as Kyle Marsh (3 for 28), Toby Poole (2 for 62) and Anthony Bevan (4 for 51) were the Kilgetty wicket takers.
Ross Hardy (34), Ian Poole (26) and Kyle Marsh (35) batted well for Kilgetty but Sam Davies’s impressive 5 for 27 haul, supported by Harries (2 for 29), Andrew Hay (2 for 48) and Wood (1 for 50) made sure that Pembroke moved into second spot in the section.

Richard Mackay smashed a splendid 96 for Stackpole and there was another good innings by Simon Bevan (65) and John Williams (20) as Wayne Jones (3 for 26) and Stuart Harries (2 for 15) were the main Whitland strike bowlers.
Jones also led by example with the bat as he scored 51 and Gregg Sleep showed his prowess with 66 runs as Mackay returned figures of 3 for 54 for Stackpole to complete an excellent personal performance.
