Scale clan bowl Burton to local derby win
Burton (180 for 3) beat Llangwm (119 all out) by 61 runs
Umpires: John Willington & Rob CousinsScorers: Dennis Venables
Burton gained a morale-boosting win over depleted neighbours Llangwm at Oatfield Park as excellent innings by Richard Jones and Jack Davies helped to a decent score in 36 overs after rain had reduced the game time – and then brothers Johnny and James Scale, plus James’ son Morgan, earned them victory and in doing so knocked Llangwm out of the top two.
Jones smashed 13 fours and a six in his 88 runs but tiredness cost him his wicket as he was caught by Ewan Griffiths off the bowling of Jonathan Venables.
Davies, back from his studies in Aberystwyth, showed his value to the side as he stroked 12 boundaries in his undefeated 71 and at tea Burton would have been the happier side with the state of play.
Llangwm skipper Joseph Kiff led his team’s batting with 44 (seven boundaries) alongside Will Beresford (27) but no-one else was able to stay long against Johnny Scale (3 for 16) and brother James (3 for 23), whose son Morgan is team captain and played his part with 2 for 27.
Carew Seconds deservedly stay top of the table
Carew 2nds (162 for 8) beat Stackpole (103 all out) by 59 runs
Umpires: Denis ChiffiScorers: Scott Richards & Claire Cox
Bevan (50) was joined by Max Brindley (26) and Luke Hicks (21) as Marcus Adie (3 for 38), Darrell Willington (2 for 29) and Simon Bevan (3 for 19) were the principal Stackpole bowlers.
Bevan also batted well for his 34, assisted by 17 apiece from Richard Mackay and Rob Mathias but Scourfield powered in with 4 for 25 alongside Joel Read (3 for 26), plus a wicket each for Matthew Phillips, Dan Edwards and Matthew Cook to give Carew another good win.

Hardy heads Kilgetty in the right direction
Whitland 2nds (125 all out) lost to Kilgetty (258 for 7) by 133 runs
Umpires: Rob Bellerby & Bob ElliottScorers: Jenny Scourfield & Rose Jenkins
Hardy also claimed 2 for 41 but this was anything but a one-man show because Kurtis and Kyle Marsh were also heavily involved, as was Toby Poole and his father Ian, who skippers this young and talented team.
Hardy had 11 fours and another six sixes en route to his 109 alongside Kurtis Marsh (50, including eight boundaries), Kyle Marsh (seven fours in his 41) and Ian Poole 13 not out at the end) against Connor Bowen (2 for 39), Stuart Harries (2 for 39) and Ben Harvey (2 for 62).
When Whitland batted, only Martin Thomas (33) and Matthew Lewis (31) ever looked really settled against Kurtis Marsh (4 for 50), Toby Poole (3 for 31) and Hardy made sure of victory – and a maximum haul of 30 points as their reward!
Ross Hardy - another century and more wickets for Kilgetty

Garin Scriven is caught behind against Pembroke
Pembroke power to vital victory
Haverfordwest 2nds (102 all out) lost to Pembroke (103 for 2) by 8 wickets
Umpire: Tony WaldeisIt was a target clearly within a confident Pembroke side’s scope but there was still a last-gasp hiccup with just a single run needed as doughty opener Barry Evans went for a big hit to take him from 47 to a deserved half century but he misjudged an attempted hook and sustained a cut head, although fortunately he was not badly hurt.
Put in to bat by astute Pembroke skipper Paul White, Haverfordwest were soon in deep trouble as Pembroke pace man Jonathan Rogers steamed up the slope and was in with a chance of all ten wickets with an over to go as his figures stood at 9 for 13 but a half chance was missed and home skipper Jonathan Twigg found a willing ally in last-man Ashley James, who hit six fours in his 39 alongside Twigg’s solid 14 not out from 42 deliveries.
But then a direct hit by Tom Barrass saw James run out and The Town had to settle for 102 all out.
Pembroke lost Jack Harries and Phil Hay (13) early on to James but then ‘Chalkie’ White (15 not out) helped his side to a deserved win – and ‘old timer’ Evans was again top scorer despite his war wound!

Cresselly cruise thanks to Webb’s wonderful bowling
Hook (149 all out) lost to Cresselly 2nds (150 for 2) by 8 wickets
Umpires: Neil Croucher & Tony PasternakScorers: Joy James & Des Brace
Tom Blaxland returned from university to score 21 alongside Jamie Phelps (23) and Bradley Flood (23) in support of Hook top scorer Brennan Martin, whose 46 runs included five fours and two sixes as Webb bowled really well and skipper Richard Harris also weighed in with 2 for 51.
Although Cresselly lost two early wickets they found a match-winning partnership with in-form opener Neal Williams (58 not out) and Geraint Davies (undefeated on 59) giving them their first win of the season so far!
