Umpires: Denis Chiffi and Tony Pasternak
Scorer: John Laugharne

Llanrhian finally ended their losing streak for the season as they battled bravely to hold on for the draw against table-topping Neyland.

Nick Koomen got Neyland off to a good start with 41 runs and had support from Nathan Banner (30) as Ashley Sutton was again the main run-gatherer with 95 (ten fours, a five and a six!) before he was caught with a three figure score in sight. Andrew Miller (26) and Scott Jones (16) were the undefeated batsmen as skipper Sean Hannon declared the innings after 40 overs as Dom Wright returned to the fold with 2 for 47 as he bowled alongside Luke Jones (3 for 67) as the pick of the Llanrhian bowlers.

Geraint Morris (40) and Dom Wright (24) were the solid early batsmen for Llanrhian as Andrew Miller grabbed 4 for 58 alongside Nathan Banner (1 for 37) and Henry Durrant (1 for 11) before a stand of 80 by Matthew Bennett (run out for 46 in the final over) and Luke Jones (39 not out) ensured that Llanrhian batted out 50 overs to achieve the draw.

Runs galore in local derby draw

Lawrenny (199 for 7) drew with Cresselly (267 for 3)

Umpires: John Williams & Rob Bellerby
Scorers: Malcolm Thomas & Teagan Cartwright

Iwan Izzard - blasted 94 for Cresselly There were runs galore at Lawrenny as Cresselly built a substantial score but the home side refused to wilt and ended up with a draw that still gave Neilson Cole’s side the bulk of the bonus points.

Cresselly lost ace run-getter Adam Chandler without scoring but Iwan Izzard blasted 94 (15 boundaries) before he was bowled by Alistair Edwards, sharing in a partnership of 86 with Simon Cole (54, including three big sixes and three fours), and then an even bigger stand of 154 with Phil Williams, who was still there at the end with 75 not out (nine fours).

Alex Bailey 910) was the other undefeated Cresselly batsman as Rob Williams (2 for 45) and Edwards (1 for 47) toiled hard with the ball for Lawrenny.

Edwards also top scored for Lawrenny with 43 runs, supported by Harry Thomas (39), Phil Cole (27) and Steve Lewis (23) before Ian Jenkins used his experience to good effect with an unbeaten 39 that ensured his side didn’t lose against their old rivals, despite the yeoman bowling of Sam Harts (4 for 48), Tom Arthur (1 for 43) and Sion Jenkins (2 for 45).

Rain ruins Whitland hopes

Johnston (211 for 9) v Whitland (164 for 2) – match abandoned (rain)

Umpires: Dave Brandon & Jon Willington
Scorers: Natalie Thomas & Ann-Marie Jenkins

The heavy drizzle that swept across Glebelands caused this bottom-four battle between Johnston and Whitland to be abandoned and left Whitland as the disappointed side because they looked hot favourites as their score stood at 164 for 2 in pursuit of Johnston’s 211 for 9  with 19 overs still left to score 48 runs.

Dan Sutton and Mikey Jones (23) put on 68 for the first Johnston wicket and Sutton reached 75 (11 fours) before he was out, with support from Steve Mills (20) before a late blitz by Lee Summons earned him 57 not out, including six fours and a six.

For Whitland, Ben Harvey led their attack with an excellent 5 for 43 haul, assisted by Matthew Davies (1 for 46), Jonathan Thomas (1 for 32) and Scott Newton (1 for 26).

Kevin Pearce (40) and Geraint Jones (59) gave Whitland a good start before Paul Davies and Jonathan Thomas both stood at 29 not out, with Chris Phillips (1 for 50) and Kevin Roberts (1 for 30) as the only Johnston wicket-takers.

It was frustrating for Whitland but their consolation comes from the fact that they widened the gap over Johnston and Narberth – and moved into mid-table safety as they also leap-frogged over St Ishmaels!

‘Dapper’ drives Town to solid home win

Haverfordwest (189 for 5) beat St Ishmaels (185 all out) by 5 wickets

Umpires: Richard Merriman & Dai Morris
Scorers: Jayne Cole & Wendy Bradshaw

An excellent undefeated innings of 83 by Dai ‘Dapper’ Davies helped Haverfordwest ease through to victory against a gritty St Ishmaels’ outfit which never gave up trying until The Town reached their target with 3.5 overs to spare.

The bulk of the St Ishmaels’ runs came from Jonathan Pawlett (21), Dan Howells (39) and Andrew Williams (45) as pace bowler Adeel Khan claimed his first major wicket haul for The Town with 5 for 43).
For once the home spin bowlers failed to exert an influence and it was Adam James (3 for 38) and 15 year old Jonathan White (2 for 27) who also sped in as Tish ended up all out on 185.

Paul Tough marked his first-team debut for Haverfordwest with 35 alongside other cameos by Nitin Mathias (11), Dan Potter (15) and James (12) against Dean John (2 for 39) and Brennan Devonald (2 for 28) – but it was Davies, with 12 boundaries in his innings, who made sure that The Town picked up the win that keeps them firmly in second spot behind high-flying Neyland.

Carew ease home in nervy finish

Carew (125 for 8) beat Narberth (124 all out) by 2 wickets

Umpires: Trefor Evans & Allan Hansen
Scorers: Emma Richards & Julie Davies

Carew eased home to a two-wicket win over Narberth as bowlers were on top for much of the afternoon and few batsmen on either side seemed able to settle to build a big score.

At tea it seemed as if the homesters had the game tied up as they bowled Narberth out for 124 runs in 31.2 overs, a total that owed almost everything to Kyle Quartermaine, whose 61 included eight fours and two big sixes. But only Jordan Howell (23) offered any real support against Neil Gregory (3 for 34), Tom Davies (4 for 21), James Hinchliffe (2 for 11) and Max Brindley (1 for 24).

Narberth skipper Ben Quartermaine (4 for 50) was joined by Lewis Hough (1 for 24), Ben Hughes (1 for 25) and Jordan Howell (1 for 12) in keeping Carew on their toes but steady knocks by Brian Hall (30), Tim Hicks (24) and Tom Davies (21) were enough to see Carew win in 33.3 overs.
