Big Burton stand kills off Town Seconds’ hopes
Haverfordwest 2nds (170 all out) lost to Burton (173 for 4) by 6 wickets
Umpire: Tony Waldeis
Scorers: Kelly Williams & Dennis Venables
An unbroken stand of 144 helped Burton beat Haverfordwest Seconds on The Racecourse after The Town had looked in command with the visitors on 29 for 4 whilst chasing down a target of 171 for victory.
Morgan Scale showed his terrific timing with 13 fours and three big sixes in his 83 not out and he found a willing ally in another big hitter in Martin James (six fours and a six in his unbeaten 53) as they completed their task with eight overs still in hand.
Haverfordwest had built a solid score as Josh Hicks lead the way with a hard-hitting 47, supported by Jack Wilson (31), Dan Cole (30) and Lewys Rhead (15) as fast bowling brothers Jack and James Davies got amongst the wickets with respective hauls of 3 for 41 and 1 for 29.
Steve Jones showed why he is the Welsh over 60s team with 3 for 16 and Aled Thomas (2 for 9) also bowled well for Burton as The Town Seconds ended on 170 all out in 44.3 overs.
Home skipper Simon Williams (2 for 15) and Clive Tucker (1 for 44) were The Town wicket-takers alongside a run out – but then Messrs Scale and James took over in some style!

Llangwm (132 for 4) beat Stackpole (131 all out) by 6 wickets
Umpire: Allan Hansen
Scorers: Janice Brick & Clare Cox
A fiery spell of quick bowling by skipper Ollie Davies helped Llangwm stay top of the table as they reduced visiting Stackpole to 131 all out and then good batting by Noah Davies helped them win with six wickets and overs aplenty in hand.
Put in to bat first, Stackpole’s final tally was built on steady knocks by Rob Mathias (27), Josh Davies (18), James Adie (10), Simon Bevan (16) and Marcus Adie (11) but no-one was able to build a big score as Llangwm skipper Davies grabbed 5 for 34 alongside useful support from Matthew Kiff (3 for 40), Noah Davies (1 for 33) and Phil Llewellyn (1 for 13).
Huw Brock (15) and James Venables (23) gave support against Marcus Adie (1 for 41), Richard Mackay (1 for 24) and James Adie (2 for 32) before Phil Llewellyn (14) and Luke Brock (12) were the unbeaten batsmen as Llangwm reached their target in 31 overs.
Paul powers Whitland Seconds to victory at Llandigige Fawr
Llanrhian (142 for 9) lost to Whitland 2nds (146 for 1) by 9 wickets
Umpires: Arthur Brady & Rob Elliott
Scorers: Jenny Davies-Scourfield (Whitland)
A smashing innings of 72 not out by Paul Oeppen helped Whitland Seconds gain a nine-wicket win over Llanrhian at Llandigige Fawr to keep the home side firmly pinned in the basement battle.
Jack Jones top scored for Llanrhian with a boundary-laden 67 not out but only Ben Jones (32) provided major support before they ended their allotted 45 overs on 142 for 9 as Jack Bowen topped the bowling figures for Whitland with 4 for 24, assisted by his brother Jack (2 for 20) and Ben Harvey (1 for 40).
Oeppen then opened with Dai Lee (20) and then found another willing ally in teenager Gethin Scourfield in an unbroken three-figure stand before they strolled home with 11 overs to spare; Oeppen hitting 11 fours and a six and Scourfield supporting with a six and two fours in his undefeated 39.
Narberth survive mid-innings mini-crisis!
Narberth 111 for 6 beat Saundersfoot (109 all out) by 4 wickets
Umpires: Dave Bonner & Glyn Pawlett
Scorers: Emma Richards & Adge John
Hughes had already made his mark with the ball as he claimed 3 for 11 alongside Ben Quartermaine (4 for 35), Owen Richards (2 for 35) and Loui Davies (1 for 25) so that only Tarin Richards (12), Sam Franklin (11) and especially John Mansbridge (34 not out) helped Saundersfoot finally manage 109 all out.
Richard Adams (13) joined Aaron Keane in an opening stand of 49 and the latter smashed six sixes and two fours en route to 60 before he fell to a good catch by Sam Franklin off James Caine’s slow stuff.
But whilst Keane looked good there were problems at the other end as four successive ducks to Tom Mansbridge (3 for 38) and John Mansbridge (1 for 23) had the home side in a bit of a dither before skipper Howell (21 not out) and Hughes (unbeaten on 10) saw their side home in 22 overs.
