In a golden month for one of the youngest skippers in the county, Sam has helped propel The Seasiders into second spot in division two and now in with a real chance of gaining promotion to the top echelon.
He scored 62 against Carew and then added 87 not out and 2 for 35 against Cresselly Seconds – and Sam followed this with 58 and took 5 for 14 against Whitland Seconds in arguably the widest margin of victory ever in local cricket.
Runs and wickets galore earn Sam the plaudits
County Club chairman Paul Webb told PembrokeshireSport.co.uk,
“We are delighted to see Sam Franklin win this award because his performances merit it alongside his leadership of a progressive club.”
It was a view reflected by Brian Hawkins, of Thomas Carroll, who added,
“We as a company are delighted to help promote a variety of local sports and congratulate Sam on his play – and we look forward to recognising more players in July and August!”
