Strawbridge sends The Cows top
Llanrhian (134 for 2) beat Narberth 2nds (133 for 8) by 8 wickets
Jon Strawbridge cracked a quick-fire 59 as Llanrhian chased down Narberth’s total of 133 for 8 at Llandigige.
Home skipper Nigel Delaney opted to field, but in difficult scoring conditions the away side showed resistance as Mick Haltham (37), Dave Jones (19), and especially late on Huw Simpkins (23 not out) batted steadily to take them to four batting points.
For the home side, Tom Clarke took 2 for 15, Jack Jones 3 for 25, and there was a wicket each for Nigel Delaney, Dafydd Williams, and Christo Arundel.
Strawbridge and Richard Reed then batted well for the opening wicket but an injury to the former saw him call for a runner, and a subsequent mix up led to Reed being run out for 25.
Richard Howell (1 for 19) then removed Strawbridge, but No 3 Jack Jones made 16 not out, and was joined by namesake Ben (29 not out) in finishing the job.
Smith and Pritchard take out The Town
Haverfordwest 3rds (47 all out) lost to Neyland 2nds (48 for 0) by 10 wickets
The quickest finish of the day came at the Lower Racecourse where Jamie Smith and Tom Pritchard ensured Neyland 2nds made light work of Haverfordwest 3rds.
Smith took 3 for 6 in six overs, and Pritchard 3 for 7 in 5.5, as the hosts were all out for 47.
Gary Lloyd, skipper Paul Miller, and Geraint Rees also took a wicket each as only No 5 Richard Scriven held things up, whacking a four and two sixes in his top score of 20.
Will Hughes and Lewis Page then clearly weren’t going to wait for any rain as they blasted past the total in 5.5 overs, Hughes hitting 31 off 21 balls (four fours and a six) and Page 15 off 14 balls (two fours) to end matters.
Williams weighs in with 93 as Cresselly carve up Tish
Cresselly 2nds (209 for 4) beat St Ishmaels 2nds (139 all out) by 70 runs
The Doves racked up 209 for 4, opener Neal Williams making 93, and he was backed up by partner Scott Arthur (23), No 3 Charlie Arthur (40), and his dad Julian (38 not out).
It was Stuart Carpenter (1 for 36) who clean bowled Williams to stop him getting his century, while two wickets for Robbie Thomas (2 for 31) and a run out earnt the visitors two points.
Missing Karl Rhead in their line-up, Tish then fell to 139 all out despite No 3 Steve Williams making a brilliant 79 (ten fours).
But he was removed by the father-son combination, bowled by Julian and caught by Charlie, and his innings proved a lone hand as Julian (2 for 5), Charlie (2 for 22), Matthew Lewis (1 for 22), Morgan Lewis (2 for 14), Josh Lewis (1 for 10) and Lyn Richards (1 for 23) all posted good figures.
Davies does the business with bat and ball
Llangwm 2nds (154 all out) lost to Stackpole (156 for 4) by 6 wickets
Davies took 2 for 11 with the ball then struck 53 to help set up a six wicket win for the visitors.
Llangwm’s total of 154 all out was largely thanks to opener Huw Brock, who made 65 (three fours and four sixes) before being bowled by that man Davies.
No 7 Toby Asson also hit a crucial 43, with three fours and just as many sixes, but Jack Corbett (2 for 21), Sam Bevan (1 for 18), Alan Webster (2 for 44), Marcus Adie (1 for 22), J Deepem (2 for 31) and Davies made sure the total to chase was a gettable one.
Davies and Alan Webster (38) got that chase off to a good start before falling to Asson and James Lewis respectively, while No 3 Lewys Gibby (20) and Sam Bevan (10) chipped in to make sure of victory.
For the beaten hosts, Toby Asson finished with 2 for 22, brother Dominic 1 for 19, and Lewis 1 for 20.
Weather wins with things well poised at Laugharne
Laugharne (160 for 8) v Johnston (67 for 3) – match abandoned
Both sides were in with a shout of victory at Laugharne before persistent rain brought an end to matters.
The hosts had made 137 for 8 from their reduced 37 overs, with Craig Hurst top scoring with 50 as Shaun Lynch (28) and James Ingledon (22) also chipped in.
For the visitors, Lee Summons (3 for 26), Keegan Codd (2 for 27) and Gary James (2 for 34) took wickets.
Josh Hicks and co were then clearly intent on reaching the total before the rain came as they moved to 67 for 13 off 12 overs, with the dangerous Summons poised on 18 not out after Ingledon (2 for 15) and Carl Smith (1 for 35) had made inroads.
But then the rain came and both sides had to settle for nine points each.
