Williams shows his class for Cresselly
Cresselly 2nds (289 for 6) beat Narberth 2nds (171 for 7) by 118 runs
Williams cracked 143 not out in his side’s huge total of 289 for 6, and while the away side put up a fight in their reply they couldn’t get close as they finished 171 for 7.
Williams was backed up by more runs for Christian Phillips, who hit 48, while Ollie Berry made a quick-fire 26 as Richard Howell (2 for 36), Ceri Davies (2 for 47), and Jake Thomas (2 for 53) shared the Narberth wickets.
Ceri Davies then top scored in the Narberth reply with 66 not out, and Shay Norcross (28), Mike John (24) and Andrew Williams (23) all helped ensure maximum batting points.
For The Doves, Phillips took 2 for 38 and as usual the slow stuff of Matthew and Corey Lewis caused problems – Matthew taking 3 for 22 and Corey 2 for 23.
Hicks smashes Johnston to a win over Stackpole
Johnston (170 for 4) beat Stackpole (169 all out) by 6 wickets
Set 170 to win on a Glebelands track in great condition, the hosts got home with six wickets in hand and still with 16 overs to spare.
Stackpole’s total of 169 all out had been thanks to opener Josh Davies, who cracked 14 fours and a six to reach 86 before being caught behind by Liam Boswell off Andrew Harries’ bowling.
Fellow opener had also looked good early on in his 28 (six fours) before giving a catch to Geno Cleal off Gary James, but the middle and lower order struggled with only No 8 Andrew McDonald making an impression with 18 (two fours).
For Johnston, Harries finished with 2 for 29, Lee Summons 3 for 24, Robert Hood 2 for 44, James 1 for 32, and Chris Fitzpatrick 1 for 24.
The home side started their reply fast but had Harries (8) removed cheaply by Paul Oeppen, while Leigh Walters reached 24 (four fours) before being bowled by Gibby.
No 3 Summons also made 24 but he played the supporting role for Hicks – who smashed eight fours and four sixes in his destructive knock.
Davies did remove Summons and Fitzpatrick (15) late on as his 2 for 36 topped the bowling figures, but Cleal (2 not out) joined Hicks to finish the job.
Five star Clarke turns the tide for Llanrhian
Laugharne (126 all out) lost to Llanrhian (191 all out) by 65 runs
Strawbridge survived a couple of dropped chances before going on to hit 11 fours and four sixes, being denied a ton when he was finally caught off the bowling of Callum Collins-Davies.
Opening partner Paul Lewis had earlier made 27 (six fours) before being LBW to Carl Smith, but the home side fought back well with the ball.
Richard Reed hit 25 (four fours) and Iwan James 15 (three fours) but aside from that the middle order went cheaply, with wickets shared between Smith (1 for 32), James Ingleton (2 for 20), Rob Couzens (1 for 42), Shaun Lynch (1 for 34), Collins-Davies (2 for 31) and Gareth Charles (2 for 2).
Laugharne’s reply centres around skipper Andrew Edwards, who opened had hit nine fours and a maximum in his 62.
But he was running out of partners by the time he was stumped by Reed off Clarke, with No 3 Alan Carter (14) the next top scorer before being run out.
Clarke finished with 5 for 29 from his eight overs, Daf Williams 1 for 16, Anthony Couzens 1 for 16, and Nigel Delaney 1 for 0.
Llangwm leave the bottom two
Llangwm 2nds (80 for 5) beat Haverfordwest 3rds (79 all out) by 5 wickets
Set just 80 to win, the hosts weren’t without alarm in the chase as they lost five wickets, but got over the line for just their third success of the season.
Graham Jenkins hit 41 to boost The Town’s total but wickets fell regularly thanks to Huw Brock, who posted superb figured of 5 for 7, while Toby Asson took 3 for 14
Asson then hit 18 to edge his side towards victory, while Shaun Waller added 13 and it was Marc Davies who kept composed with 13 not out at the end.
For the away side, there was at least a good spell from Will Phillips (3 for 18) while Seth Woodhouse took 1 for 5.
Great Scott takes Neyland close to safety
St Ishmaels 2nds (73 all out) lost to Neyland 2nds (204 for 6) by 131 runs
Jones hit 108 in his side’s total of 204 for 6, before Tish collapsed to 73 all out.
After opting to bat, Neyland hit early trouble as Callum power was LBW to Kevin Bowen for 5 – and the same bowler then had Jack John (8) caught and bowled.
But No 3 Jones batted measuredly, hitting seven fours and two sixes before eventually falling to Robbie Thomas.
George Evans also chipped in with 20 while Tish wickets were shared between Bowen (2 for 22), Thomas (2 for 47), and Steve (1 for 46) and Thomas Williams (1 for 21).
It was Gary Lloyd who then caused his usual chaos with the ball, taking 4 for 10 in a seven over spell that also yielded three maidens.
Jack John (2 for 10), Tom Pritchard (2 for 17), Evans (1 for 2) and Geraint Rees (1 for 22) also struck – as only No 8 Bowen (12) reached double figures for Tish.
